:p Sophie had the same thing. Our Vet thought probably a spider bite too. They gave a shot and the benedryl. It was several days before they disappeared completely. I also have a pic in Sophies gallery of the welts. Didn't really seem to bother her at all, but sure made me and hubby uncomfortable!:D

Jemma has had hives ever since summer started. Not sure what it is from but we are trying all sorts of remedy's - just wondering after reading all the posts you all say you gave your furbabies benadryl???? The vet only gives Jemma a cortizone shot - which I don't want to give to her anymore - so I am wondering if I can use the benadryl and if so how much do you give them? Thanks for your help.

Hi dad of Jazmine, 9 mo. old fawn, docked nat. ears

Had same problem when changing foods, she broke out in hives like I had ever seen before, after taking her to the vet.
2 shots later it turned to be many boxers have a reaction to wheat, changed to a none wheat
food which was lamb, millet, rice formula and they went away
never came back. Good luck

My girl is allergic to fresh cut grass. Oh boy is she ever. She looks like one big hive. If she gets real anxious in the hot weather she'll get them too. Just like people. No biggie.

You can also find, I believe it's by Hartz, at like Target or Wal-Mart a hydrocortizone shampoo and a spray to bathe them in when the hives creep up.

How long do the hives usually last? My Jazper who is 12 weeks old has them all over. He had vaccinations on Friday and Sunday afternoon he looked like he had been laying on a wrinkled blanket his whole life. He looked like one of those wrinkle dogs. There were several things and I am trying to narrow it down. We bought him a new water dish on Friday. He got into my sons plate of pancake and bacon Sunday morning. And we also washed all the beds in the liquid Febreeze that you put straight into the washer. So I washed the water bowl REALL good. I replaced his bed. I have a 2 1/2 yr old boxer as well and nothing is wrong with her. So...... I am really confused. I have been giving him a half a tab of childrens Benedryl morning and night. He looked pretty good when I got home from work this afternoon about 4pm. And now as the night has wore on there are more bumps again. Any suggestions.
