Hi all, I'm Kailin... I'm 25 and living on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I'm about to get my very own Boxer puppy! I've lived with a Boxer before (my brother has had a brindle Boxer, Nano, since we were both in high school) but I've never yet experienced the joys of puppyhood. I'm actually looking forward to it! I'll prolly be singing a different tune when she starts chewing on my furniture... *wry grin* But right now the prospect is very exciting. I have several cats, but have missed having a dog in the house.

Anyhow...as this is my first puppy I'll no doubt have many many questions as I go along. Advice is always welcome! :)

Welcome Kailin
I will be looking forward to hearing about your new puppy. You have found a great site to have all of your questions answered, and meet some great people as well, all of whom have Boxers in common.
I noticed you are from MD. Just curious if you are an Old Bay spice fan as well. I love the stuff myself!!!
Talk to you soon

Welcome to the board! We look forward to hearing about your new boxer puppy when you get him/her. I have a 7 month old pup and boy, she sure is a handful! But what a joy.

Good luck and welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome! :)

It's all set! She'll be coming home in three weeks, female fawn, black mask... I haven't picked a name yet--I have to spend a few days getting to know her before we can decide on a name that suits her. :) She's in PA and I'm in MD so it'll be a lil' bit of a trip--I hope it's not too stressful for her! :(

I've been reading up on training and puppyhood, stocking up on food and treats and bedding and toys, finding out about obedience classes (already!), and puppy-proofing the house as best as I know how. I'm not enthused about crate-training but can see the benefits of it so I'll prolly go that route, at least until I feel she can be trusted not to get into too much trouble. (A Boxer getting into trouble? Ridiculous, I know! ;)) I haven't figured out yet where she'll sleep, and whether or not she'll be allowed on the furniture at all... Decisions, decisions!

I'm trying to make the time go faster by keeping busy with preparations, but so far it seems the days are endless. I wish she was here already!
