Hello Everyone,
My wife and I are about to adopt a Boxer named Tyson. He is the offspring of a Fawn Male and a Brindle Female. We went to the owners house yesterday to meet Tyson and and to NOT ONLY see if HE was right for us ...but... to see if WE were right for him.
The initial contact was GREAT. He was a bit nervous at first because we brought our friends two little girls with us to see if he was a good 'kid dog'. It also didn't help that my brother and his fiance came also.. they just happened to be in town to visit. So needless to say... Tyson was bit overwhelmed with SIX new people in his presence, but he settled down in no time and allowed everyone to pet him.
The owners are very knowledgeable about this breed and gave us A LOT of information in such a short time. They are the kind of people that we would feel comfortable with calling with any questions, but I would still like to get some input on a few things from other owners here in the forums. They still own the mother and the father of Tyson and will need a couple of days to explain to their son that Tyson is about to have a new home.
If all goes well with their son... it looks like we are going to pick up Tyson on Wednesday after work. My wife is planning on working from home on Thursday to make sure he's OK with his new surroundings for a day.
I look forward to chatting with everyone and hopefully gain some useful info with this new member to our family.
