My pure white boxer is called 'Kufda Cassius' (i just call her kuff).I wanted to have her first name have somthing to do with 'white'....some people call there white dog 'charlie' (after a certain class A)...i didnt want to called her that, so i went to a book shop and found a book of slang and found 'Kufda' which is arabic slang for that certain class A!!!
'Cassius' is because she is a boxer!! named after the greatest boxer of all time!

Thats a great name ....."Kuff" is cute .. We didn't go into that much research picking Boo's name....
We wanted to name him something a little different ...we thought about it & thought about it...We knew it would have "Boogity' in his name some how. So after looking at the Boxers magazine( of Dog Fancy) ..I saw a name of a Ch Boxer that was sorta like what I wanted. So we came up with Boogity Boogity Boo...If your know nascar you'll know were Boogity came from !!!

My doggies name

We put a lot of thought into what we wanted to name our little one, I had a list of names ready but wanted to wait to name until we actually seen her first and had a chance to get to know her. We ended up naming her Layla Asia, Layla after Muhammad Ali's boxer daughter and Asia is just a name I liked. I love to hear how people come up with names for their doggies....

We had no clue what we were going to name our boxer when we picked him up. While driving home we kept throwing names out but none seemed to suit him. Then we passed a gas station sign that said "Diesel" and it stuck!! Mainly because he had such bad gas all the way home and it was a 2-1/2 hour drive!!!

The name Betsy was chosen by our daughter (why I don't know) Her biker 'handle' is Biker Betsy 'Jo' Boxer. Biker cuz her dad is, 'Jo' Boxer (feminine version of Joe Boxers). But I affectionately call her Beetzy Pootsie (cuz she does the latter...) I can "Beetzy Pootsie" all day long and she's my little clown girl, but when I say "Betsy come!" she knows it ain't fun and games. Oh, and when she Kidney Beans, well then, she's my Little Kitt-Nee Bean Girl. hmmmm Suppose she'll have an identity crisis at some point??

Our boy's name is Cassius too, I guess it's a pretty common name for a boxer to have a "boxer's" name? Sometimes it surprises me how many people have never heard of Cassius Clay? We always end up explaining his name
Some of the others in the litter are Rocky, Sugar Ray, Tyson and Sonny

We ended up naming her Layla

Our Layla is 9.5 years old now as was named after the Eric Claypton song

Her named used to be unique but now there are lots of Boxer girls named Layla after the human Boxer. I did not even know about Muhammad Ali's daughter until a few months ago when I was wondering why all of a suden people were calling their dogs Layla - I thought perhaps that song had been re-released :D :rolleyes: You can tell I really keep up with sport

I think it is pretty common (there are lots of Rocky's on the board) - we actually have tried to avoid it, but looks like we were foiled with Layla

We names our boy Blue. My husband saw "Old School" (the movie with Will Farrell) and had to use that name just so he can constantly (and I mean constantly) say " Yer my boy, Blue!" If you saw the movie it would make sense.....
