First, let me say I am so sorry your baby has parvo and I am sending as many boxer vibes as we can muster to your baby for a full (and speedy) recovery. I have only witnessed one case of parvo in an 10 week old pup and she pulled through, but it was a rough week (or longer).

The ONLY thing that will kill the parvo virus is bleach, or a specialized agent like Parvosol! The virus is very hearty and can live for days, and even months, outside the host. The virus is found in the dogs poop, so those are the areas you need to concentrate on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the virus is found in saliva.

Has your other dog been vaccinated for parvo? How old is he/she? Generally, a regularly vaccinated dog, 3 years or older is at low risk, even if exposed. Keep an eye out for any diarrhea or vomiting, at the first sign a vet should be consulted.

Any and all poop should be picked up and pour bleach all over the area. I would bleach or trash any and all blankets that she has laid on. Here's a blurb off of a website I found:

Is there a way to kill the virus in the environment?

The stability of the CPV in the environment makes it important to properly disinfect contaminated areas. This is best accomplished by cleaning food bowls, water bowls, and other contaminated items with a solution of one cup of chlorine bleach in a gallon of water ( 4 to 8 ounces of bleach in a gallon of water OR 250 mL in 4 liters of water). It is important that chlorine bleach be used because most "virucidal" disinfectants will not kill the canine parvovirus.

You can go here to read more: http://www.animalclinic.com/parvo.htm or try doing a Google search on "canine parvo virus".

Good luck and keep us posted!
