Hi Guys,
It's been a while since I've been here for help but here goes...Yesterday we took in a 3 yr old female brindle, Bella, from rescue to be her forever home. She is the sweetest, most gentle boxer I've ever had. We currently have our almost 2 yr old male boxer, Otto, who we got a puppy. He is just one big ball of energy but does not have alot of experience playing or being with other dogs. He WILL NOT leave her alone..he is contantly licking her ears, face or any other area that might present itself...she has been very patient with him but does give a warning growl or bark (no teeth showing or back up) to let him know..ENOUGH! (I think we girls can understand...) So far every hour that goes by just gets better and better. We just took them to the park to run for a while and they had a blast. Any ideas how to make this transition better for both of them? I just want everyone to be happy...Thank you so much for listening..

I think if you give Bella and Otta a little more time together they will soon learn what is and what is not appreciated from one another. They need to figure it out for themselves and I'm sure it won't take long. Congrats on Bella - you are both blessed to have one another. Take care :)

Also....maybe for these first few days....give Bella some of her own ALONE time with you (or even by herself) so that she has some down time where she doesn't have to fight off the happiness of Otto.

Sounds like things are going well for you. And as suggested, maybe give her some alone time with you and that will also give her a little bit of quiet time.

Hooray! for you adopting a Boxer. 2 Boxers are soooo much fun! I miss my other Boxer he has gone to the bridge. :(

Congrats on the new addition! lovicon

I think the two will be fine together too - Otto is excited to share a new sister to play with. I also think the alone time is a good idea too. Keep us posted.
