Worry NOT!!

We have a one year old male and a 14 week old female and a seven month old baby in the house and while the two dogs are very active as is the boxer way for some reason they just know that they have to be gentle with her!! Tyson loves to lick her toes and Ali licks her face not to mention that they take and love much abuse from my six year old brother!! Boxers have an unspoken but always seen and understood love for children and i know that if our dogs had it their way they would be out playing with the neighbors kids rather than us!! Also we have friends who adopted a boxer that plays with their 3 and 5 year olds like a kid would!! he plays hide and seek, digs in the sand box, and plays dress up! Boxers and kids are a wonderful combo and they are great protectors when they need to be especially of their kids!! i hope all works out well! Tyson&Ali's mom

niece/ nephew

I babysit a 3 yr old little girl ... I have a 1 yr old niece and a 2 yr old nephew.

Our boxer is 1 year old and we jsut got a baby boxer girl who is now about 12 weeks old.

Our 1 yr old boxer is EXTREMELY HYPER and jumps A LOT. like everyone else said he knows not to jump on the little kids and babies. He'll give them kisses and wiggle his butt feverishly when he sees them but he is very gentle with them. He however will jump up on adults!! haha we're working on that issue.
(i think that it is because they are at his level and the adults if they dont get on their knees to say hello he'll try to jump up to give them a kiss on the face)

As sad as it is true.. my 2 yr old nephew looks forward to seeing our dogs more than us... he hears our names and he says .. "DOG!?" asking if we have the dogs with us.

I just had to post because this fits the thread and well....I wanted to brag a little too...lol Coco does so great with little kiddos. She is the typical hyper, jumping kidney bean boxer but when little children get around her, she automatically puts it in low gear. We have worked with her but this seems to come natural to her. The other night we were walking and all the kids were out. We approached a group of 7 children all ranging from ages 10 to 4 - I put Coco in a sit stay and she did exactly that. Her nubby was going 100 MPH but she knew to sit still and they just loved on her and she licked and loved back. We continued on and there was a woman in her front yard with her 2 yr old daughter. The little girl wanted to pet, her mother said "is it nice"...of course I said yes. I put Coco in a sit stay again and as the girl approached, I think Coco realized her mother was nervous so she took it upon herself to lay completely down and let the girl pet her. Butt wiggling away but still on the ground. What a good girl! Boxers are wonderful with children.

We recently visited a Friend and took one of the dogs with us. My friend has a 2 month old baby and our girl Mystique was great with the baby. She soon decided that it was her job to watch over, anytime anyone picked up the baby Mystique was right there watching. If the baby cried she would find someone and look from the adult to the baby and back(as if to say, plz make her stop) Mystique even slept right by the crib at night. I myself have a two year old. He can play rough at times but all the dogs here know that they can't play with him like they do my husband. My son has accidently fallen, stepped on them before and they just give kisses and lay back down. I really think the only worry you may have is your girl wanting to give the new baby lots and lots of kisses.

Just a little note

My cousin had a baby a couple of months ago and ended up boarding their dog (a chocolate lab named Godiva) anyways, while Godiva was being bored my cousin gave the baby's blanket to her husband to take to the vet in order to get the dog accustomed to the new smell of the baby before they both came home. To this day Godiva is still a great, wonderful (hyper as heck!) dog, but she is so protective over the baby Alex that it is amazing. I agree with a post earlier, just get your fur-baby ready for all the sounds and stuff and don't treat your fur-baby any different. I am sure that you will be fine. Also, you may want to get a fake-baby and try to work with your fur-baby that way also. It can be done !! I promise :)
Oh yeah - and please post pics of the skin baby !!
