My baby hasn't yet arrived, and I can't wait until he does! In fact it won't be until October or November that he is scheduled to be here. But I am going nuts trying to think of a name to call him! I want something unique but appropriate. And one syllable is what I am hoping for. I have a German Shepherd named Josie. So I don't want the pup's name to end in "ee". Any advice? Do you like the name LeRoy?? Bad, Bad, LeRoy Brown is what I was thinking! I know LeRoy is 2 syllables, but its a cute name! Another name I was considering was Zeke. HELLLLLLLLLLP!

I like Leroy better. but once you see the pup you will know, wait a couple days, get to know his personality, that's what we did with Kirby. Even though I wanted to name him "Cash" (I love Johnny Cash!) but the hubby liked Kirby! So it stuck! But the next one I get will be Cash!! I love it!!:)

I remember how hard it was for us to pick out a name. We came up with a lot of names, but just couldn't agree on one we both liked. DH wanted to name him Dutch and I wanted to name him Rogue. Then I found the name Ronin and luckily we both liked it :)

Trust me that you may have names picked out but when you meet him they just might not fit. Oscar was going to be Baxter, Lenny, or Ollie but he was an Oscar and I knew it within a day of having him. So you know my favorites are Baxter, Lenny, and Ollie but the new favorite is Archie I love that name for a boxer.

I was the same way and we had a few names picked out but we brought him home and after a few days his personality spoke volumes, he was a real Knucklehead, so his name is "Knuckles".I actually really like Leroy. Good Luck.

Actually its been shown that most dogs respond better to a two syllable names and that ends in a hard EEE, or hard OOO, like in Jo see (2 syllables and ends in eee) or Bu dee. Or like in Banjo, Echo, etc. Plus most commands are 1 syllable...sit, down, stay, heel, leave it, off etc. so its easily confused with a one syllable name..My Carson responds better when I call him Carsy.

I was just like you..I had an idea (theme) of names I wanted. In the end, neither of my babies got any of the names I though I wanted but they did have the theme.

I think its great to start thinking now..but honestly, I really don't like LeRoy. I prefer Zeke.

If you want to drive yourself nuts with a zillion choices for names..follow this link, you're bound to find a name in all these :) http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names.htm

I wanted to name Emmett, Barney. We have a Wilma and I thought Barney or Fred would be appropriate. Now we call Emmett "Em" which sometimes ends up "Emmy". We call Wilma "Wil" which ends up "Willy". Talk about gender identity issues...oh well!
Wait to see him. What are you crazy about? Cars? Sports? Television characters? Give us some hints and we can take it from there.....
