Our new addition (9 week old flashy fawn boy) decided that it was fun to eat some pea gravel yesterday.

I thought I was so smart by bringing him to a designated area next to our garage to do his business (instead of my lawn!) since we brought him home two days ago and all of a sudden he thinks the pea gravel is kibble or something!!
I'm pretty sure he swallowed at least one piece. We go see the vet anyway today and he's acting fine but I forget that puppies like to scare the pants off ya by doing that!! Hopefully this behavior (and the pea gravel) will pass without too much problem!

What's the strangest thing your puppies have ingested, and were the OK after??

Britnee (my old girl at the bridge) ate a broom when she was a pup, she pooped it for days.

Solution? Ice Chips??

I may have found the solution to the pea gravel!!
Ice chips seem to have the same effect, but now he barks at them!!!!

Delilah ate the ends of hard rubber dog toys. The round ends. The doctor acually erayed her for something else and thaought they were spots on her liver. Well she had to be operated on, because they were so big. She is just an aggressive chewer. She had 7 or 8 of them in her tummy. We still do not know when she did it. I keep a close eye on what type of toys she has and I count them too.

Pea gravel is small. Should pass. I would check with the vet to be safe.

Buster swallowed a plastic sandwich bag he pinched out of the kitchen pedal bin! I did not even know he had took or eaten it untill it came out. Im not sure which end it came from, I blinked and it was there basicaly. It stank though! As you can imagine I was horrified. That dog must have a guardian angel. He was only about 12 weeks old at the time.

I have since bought a different bin that he cannot steal from.

Yesterday while I was feeding our rabbit Spice knocked the bowl out of my hand and started to eat the rabbits food. It only consists of pumpkin seed, peas, papaya and some haw, so I guess I'm not that worried:rolleyes:

I think the most unusual things Bella ate are a small peice of glass and a £2.00 coin.

Couldn`t beleive it when she brought them back up (both at the same time) smashicon

Still with the pea gravel!

OK, he's still doing it. Eating the pea gravel along with dirt, sticks, cardboard, and just about anything at his level! This seems so strange to me!
I'm sure it's just cuz he's still a baby and teething, but I worry about it like crazy.

I also realized I have a few toxic plants in my garden, Hydrangeas and Foxglove. Our yard is not fenced in so I don't and won't let him out there unsupervised but I'm thinking that I'm going to have to make some serious changes come springtime!!

By the way, at least I know the pea gravel is working its way out, blech!
