Help Ginty eating cat poo!!!

Ive just let Ginty lovicon out before going to work, and guess what the dirty little girl was in the corner of the garden eating cat poo nonoicon nonoicon, I have never known her do anything like this before, (unless she has done it when I have not been watching) I really shouted at her, and made her go into her bed. Will this harm her in anyway?????

Must rush off to work now , its made me late !!!

If you think eating cat poo is bad, Cassie managed to find and eat some human poo before

We were on a lovely walk in the woods in Germany with some friends and Cassie was skipping happily ahead of us. We noticed she had stopped to eat something and Tony leapt in to try and stop her in case it was something horrible. He was just scooping it out of her mouth when he noticed the toilet paper next to what was left of Cassie's meal (someone got caught short while out walking I guess) - you've never heard a grown man scream so loudly when he realised what it was!! :D

It didn't do her any harm though and she's also a big fan of horse manure, cow pats and sheep dung. We try to stop her when we can but the vet told us that she would probably get some nutrients from it and it shouldn't upset her tummy (even if it upsets ours when she does it).

Hopefully Ginty will grow out of this phase, or the cat will find somewhere else to poo, but I shouldn't worry too much unless she starts eating large quantities or gets an upset tummy.

Don't our boxers have such adorable habits?!?

Good luck with Ginty.

apollo is a big fan of the litter box..

apollo is just four months, and i can't seem to keep him out of the litter box. i've tried and tried to let him know this is unacceptable - but to no avail. he won't do it when i'm around, but i can hear him at night rummaging through there. i'll get up and walk towards there - and he takes off!!! :p

I loved all your stories about your Boxers eating poo,
- you've never heard a grown man scream so loudly when he realised what it was!! That really made me chuckle out loud. What our doggys lack in manners they more than make up for in other ways. Cant help but love them. cool2icon Hi Ive just put a picture on of Ginty, this new set up is brilliant!!!!!

Bye for now Pammyjean and my lovely friend Ginty sleepicon

Poo Poo Face bad....

My pup Nugget had a big problem with eating poo poo of all kinds... cat poo out of the litter box, deer poo in the yard, i even caught her eating her own... i almost threw up. and she was NOT invited to kisses for about three weeks, two baths, and about 3 teeth cleanings...

But like others have mentioned, it is normal... albeit GROSS.

If you ahve a problem with your pup eating their OWN feces, or you cats feces, you can go to your vet and get a product called Forbid... it is a natural enzyme that you add to their food. No flavor going in, but through the digestive process it makes the poo taste really bad (as if it weren't abd enough to begin with). after about 7 days of the forbid Nugget won't even stop to smell poo in the yard.

Mine used to find the kitty litterbox no matter where I would hide it.nonoicon I think they thought it was a game. Who can find the kitty poop first. So I trained the cat to go outside and use the potty, but guess what they just dug it up out of the yard. I guess you just can't outsmart them. So you might as well just love themlovicon and go on.

Poor Ginty!!!! She had all day to think about why you were mad at her and hopefully she will think twice before she eats cat poo again.

I'm sure she has already forgiven you.

Np Poo today!!!!

Hi,

I let Ginty out this morning, she ran out, looked back at me as if to say "Well can I eat some more poo" nonoicon , luckily I watched her , but I dont think the dreaded neighbours cat had been round. evilicon
Hi Nifftea , Ginty was already named when we rescued her, but the story goes, that her favourite tipple was Gin and Tonic , hence G & T. nonoicon she is not an alcholic but she does love the smell of wine, whisky etc. Sometimes as a treat I dip my finger in my glass of red wine and let her lick my finger, her face kinda screws up and she really savours the flavour. lovicon

Gaia is a poo fan too!

This is so gross! But Gaia just loves it. On our daily walk we go by a horse pasture and she just goes to town- especially after a good snow or rain, it must be really great smelling to her then! I used to stand outside the barbed wired fence just yelling and yelling for her to stop. She would stare at me over her shoulder, grab a big clod in her mouth, leap in the air and run like heck with it flying out the sides of her mouth as she went. I would end up laughing and trying my hardest to be stern with her. I have since learned to just laugh it off and she has really lessened her daily intake of the poo- I must have ruined her game.

What a strange dog. Gotta love her!
