Merry Christmas everyone! I have been reading quite a few of the forums and quite a few of you have written about your deaf white boxers. I realize quite a few of you only realized the puppy was deaf after you brought your bundle of joy home, but I have an odd request. I would actually like to seek out a hard of hearing or deaf boxer puppy. Let me explain...

My grandfather is 88 years old and quite hard of hearing. He lives with me now and I realize what a damper his hearing impediment puts on his mood. I own two boxers of my own and would LOVE to add a third to our bouncing Boxer family...but I'd like to find a deaf one that my grandfather (whom I lovingly refer to as PapPap) can relate to. I think it would brighten his spirits and liven our home up even more. My question is, how do I find a deaf boxer? I would like to find a puppy and most rescues only have grown boxers. While I would love a grown boxer as I love my own, for my grandfather's purposes, I'd like to find a new puppy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I actually haven't. I assumed, probably naively, that they would have adult boxers only. I would just love to torture my Pappap with puppyhood again, they're such clowns :). I'll contact some boxer rescues and see what turns up. Thank you for your reply!

Rescues often get in pregnant or birthed mothers with pups. Yes, people don't spay and then don't want a prego dog, so they give her and the pups up! Some breeders will turn over their "less than sellable" dogs, and boxers, well, whites sometimes don't make it out of a litter. Some breeders still believe that whites should be destroyed. So sad.

Petfinder.com is also a great resource - lots of rescues have their pups listed and you can filter. Also, if you weren't aware, there are transport services that will transport a pup to you if out of state. So, if funds are not really a hinder, you can always find a needy pup out of state!

Hello

The lady that we are getting our puppy from has a all white puppy to be honest I can't say if it is deaf or not. I see that you are from PA we might be close to eachother. Are you close to kittanning at all.

@joshwright

I'm so sorry, I'm just now seeing your response! I live in Finleyville, if you know where that is. I'm willing to drive just about anywhere for a deaf boxer puppy. We've still had no luck :-(
