Just a suggestion, it may not be worth much. Turn on the lights in your basement, leave others off and go outside at night - do you see even little specks of light where they could get in (I have been told that they can get in a hole as small as a quarter). Repeat for first, second floors etc. Around a window casing, where gas lines, electric etc go in house. If you have a chimney check for any spots around the entry to the roof. Put mesh or something over the top of the chimney etc. I used to live in a huge 3 story house when I was a kid and we had bats occasionally and I can remember my dad going around caulking and patching. This did bring back a pretty funny memory - my dad always worked 2nd shift and I can remember my mom getting me & my brother out of bed and shutting us in the bathroom while she went around with the laundry basket over her head and a broom for hitting the bat (she was not too concerned about its safety) I got a good chuckle remembering this. Good luck they can be pretty pesty.

Thanks for all your advise! I believe we found the entry and "knock on wood" have not had one in the house since. I totally know that I just jinxed myself. Well.... When DH installed the small air conditioner in the upstairs bedroom, he never sealed off underneath (there were two wide open sections (probably 2-3 inches wide) on each side of the A.C. They could fly right in! And since he sealed it up... nothing! Fingers crossed that was it. We did try suzyqdogsmom's advise and walked around the house.... from that we sealed up a window to the basement that had somewhat of a hole in it. So hopefully... the pesky suckers are back outside for good. I am not willing to cohabit my home with animals that dive bomb my head. foolicon

Hope that solves your problem - I can't imagine how nuts SuzyQ and my cat would get if a bat was flying around. She just about has a stroke chasing flies around. Good luck

You know what baffles me... the animals were Not phased a bit. Sam watched as it flew over his head and he never moved. Probably thought.... Aw man... another pet in the house! But at the same time, I'm thankful they didn't get riled up. I wouldn't want them getting attacked for trying to play with the thing!

Good News so far: again no bat last night! appicon "knock on wood (again)"
