We have a 1 year old boxer named Lucy (fawn/docked/floppy), a 13 yo mixed breed named Maggie, two cats and two little boys. Lucy LOVES Maggie and enjoys teasing the cats.
This past weekend Lucy stopped a break in at our house. The door jam on the back door was cracked/broken where they tried to come in. She does tend to sleep through quite a bit, so likely didn't hear them until the door cracked. Good dog! However...when the Sheriff showed up later, she barked at him -quite viciously- when he entered. She did calm down after about 30 seconds. She had never barked at any one who had entered the house before. When the security alarm people showed up a while after that, not a peep out of her. Silly dog.
eieio because we live out in the country. Any tips from any "country dwelling dog owners" would be appreciated.
