And yes I think he doesn't beleave me about the dog until his brother seen it himself and told him it was for real,He doesn't say much now to me.

Thanks everyone for taking time,This is going be a enjoyable site I can see.
And yes we have decided not to crop the ears,He is quit handsome just the way he is !(need to get a digital camers badly to show him off- LOL)
He is just at 7 1/2 mo. old,So I should wait awhile to have him neutered ?Vet says cost depends on his weight, right now about $125.00,She never realy said a certain age or anything like that.

What is everyone average weight on heathly male Boxer?
Kinda curious of that.I love the shape of there bodies just wondering what I am looking at in weight. My son plays hard with him as soon as he get home from school (outside running like crazy)And I do the the same about 2 hours later and then we walk after dinner a few blocks.Really hope to put some size and definition in his body.I am wondering if my feeding is right with this kind of activity?1 1/2 cups of food when we eat breakfast with small teaspoon of yogart added,Once or twice a week a small peice of bacon and scambled eggs added-or just yogart and a raw egg white added,He has lunch with my wife and has 1 cup of food with about a 1/4 cup of warmed canned low sodium, fat free chicken brooth added,Dinner time is 1 1/2 cups of food with (I get Nutro canned large breed puppy food and make it last for 4 feedings)and mix in with dry food which is the Nutro large breed puppy food (40 lb. bag)and the puppy Lamb and rice (5lb. bag)mixed in one large airtight container.
He looks great,But he would eat more if I would let him,Just don't want to over feed him,But sure don't want to under feed!!
I don't leave food in the bowl at all times because if he doesn't eat when we eat he is a little whimpering begger,LOL
So my feeding guidlines are of the dog food bag and just want some opinions on how much you guy's dogs eat.
Thanks everyone for all the help,I raised dogs as a youngster thru about 18 years old and I am know 34 and just like when my son was born I asked alot of questions.Just to get things right.
Thanks

Dwayne,
I think alot depends on the dog because Jeff is 2 and weighs about 65 pounds. His dad weighs about 80. There is not an ounce of fat on him. I tried Ukenuba, Science Diet, well every dog food around and he will not eat it. No matter what. He will only eat the Kibbles and bits! I could not stand to make him wait because he would go all day long and not eat. The only way I can keep weight on him is still feed him the Wal Mart brand canned puppy food along with the Kibble and Bits. I have had him to the vet several times and she says if he will eat it give it to him. Because when I just give him Kibble he looks extra thin in the tummy. He is healthy and strong. My husband is 6 ft 8 in anc about 300 pounds. Jeff will pull him off the couch when they play tug. Hopefully he will get bigger but he has pretty much chosen his own diet. We give him doggie vitamins every day to make sure. We do feed him a little eggs and bacon(Bad I know) but I get so worried about his weight being so small. He sits so quietly and still while I cook his eggs and bacon but it's only on tuesday and friday. Reba on the other hand still eats the Wal Mart can puppy food and Kibbles and bits too at 9 months she weighs about 55 pounds. But she will eat anything or any kind of Dog food except Ukenuba. But in general I think about 75 to 80 is normal according to our vet. She said it depends because her sister has one that is about 95 and it's just muscle. You can see pictures of them at

Sorry,
Left out the part about how often I feed them. I usually feed them each one can in the morning mixed with kibble and one can at night. I leave the dry out during the day and they eat when they get hungry.

Size really depends, some boxers are bigger some are much smaller. My 7 year old boxer boy is 85 pounds. They normally don't completely fill out until they're around 2 years old. My boxer eats 1 and a half cups of kibble, and 6 oz. of canned in the morning, and then the same amount in the evening.

Ok,Thanks for taking the time out for my many questions,
The guy I got the dog from was feeding it Ukenuba and from studing the foods I like Nutro the best even though a few other brands has as much protein but they have by-products and no where near all the vitamins and goodies Nutro has. From my research.and Nitro loves it.
The guy bought the dog from a pet store that told him they deal with a real nice breeder(so they say-Said he was exspensive due to his markings-and background-What ever that means)Really trying to get this guy to get his papers.I would love to know about his parents and sibblings.
I will be happy as long as he is healthy,But I would love for him to be a gaint. He was born on 7-8-02 and weighed 51lbs the other day,So I am hoping to see some weight gain,Not realy sure on this breeds growth.I know my sheperards and dobies realy picked up the weight from 11 mo.s old to 16 mo.s old.I am hoping Boxers do the sameI know it will be more work because he loves his baths now and the food may get exspensive but Just want a big healthy boy.I am thinking he will because he was always cageded up eating just plain food and when he was taking outside it was always on a leash,Here at his permanent home it is fenced in and he acts like a horse and will just run and run like free Mustang or something. But man oh man why do they want to eat or chew on everything,I have 2 thrity year old grape vines that he thinks they are his chew toys.I realy don't want to push him to right because of his back ground,I need his trust first before I scoled him.But one day I said I am going to ground you if you keep digging in the couch looking for his ball that rolled underneath and when I said that he went to a corner of the room and sat and looked at me,So I said thats right your grounded and you just sit there and think about it,It was very amazing to me.He will sit there and whin a minute or two then I say ok your not grounded any more and he goes crazy with hugs and kisses,He learned Hugs and kisses the first time I should him what it was.Dog is human I think.I know I am bragging but this dog thinks he is just like my son,And he his.He is here right now trying to get me to play ball with him,he just took a big nap,I know I did a bad thing but he got his own steak tonight with us at dinner and is full of energy,Also he will wine at me if I am on this PC to long and not playing with him.
Thanks for listening and sharing this wonderful breed of dog with me and my family.

Give him plenty of chew toys to keep his teeth away from your stuff. The kong is a good one, tough rubber, and it's hollow so you can stuff it with doggie treats, or canned food or peanut butter to keep him busy. Do keep him away from the grapes, grapes are very bad for dogs.

Ok thanks for the remarks on the grapes,My son eats all kinds of fruit everyday and Nitro is always wanting some,Apples mosty,But I have not gave him any did not know if it was ok,
And I did go buy about 6 chew toys just for him and he loves them very much,He know each one of there names.
Thanks for all the helpful info.

Can't wait to see pics of Nitro. To get an avatar you need to click user cp, edit profile, and add an avatar. I think it has to be 64 by 64 pixels. It took me a while to figure things out after I got my scanner. Good luck!
