I have a 8 month old dark brindle Boy and a 4.5 year fawn Female, both with beautiful natural ears (cant stand that horrible, disfigured, cropped look)....we love them to death and spoil them rotten.

Welcome to Boxerworld! :)

Our baby, Asia, has natural ears as well. I don't prefer the cropped ears, but I don't at all think they are "horrible and disfigured" ... I think that is merely a preference of opinion! Quite frankly, I think that a Boxer can 'pull off' any look ;)

welcome, my dogs also have floppy ears. but I would say that cropped ears are ugly. it is just a matter of taste.

Welcome welcome fellow Canadian! :) My pup too has natural ears but i do think the cropped ears give a very dignified look

thanks all, I guess i should restate my intro.... "disfigured" is perhaps a little too harsh.... sorry for that, it just makes their ears look so "raw" or "hacked" or "mangled" .... I just dont know how else to put it... Its banned everywhere in the world except U.S and (amazingly enough) Canada, i know you wont find a vet anywhere that will do this surgery nor support it, so it makes me shudder at the kind of back-room surgeries these poor pups are subject too.... i think and hope this antiquated practice is becoming a relic...

Welcome to Boxerworld. :)

Allow me to quote a fellow Moderator, JulieM on the subject of ear cropping:

There are many reasons for cropping ears, and the topic almost always gets quite heated (moderator mode: this thread will be closed quickly if even a tiny bit of heat is generated!).

just a side note..you can widely find vets who will ear crop in other provinces other than Ontario, specifically because the OVMA doesnt support it so if anything goes wrong, the vets will not receive their help in legal matters etc.
