Harry is a brindle!

There were actually 2 brindle boxers there and mine was one of them. The other brindle had cropped ears. Harry has a black mask and natural ears. He had on a t-shirt. The other brindle was dressed up as the dragon for the costume contest. I just loved seeing all the dogs, especially the boxers. There were 211 dogs on Saturday! That is fantastic. For BW members reading that are not familiar with Paws in the Park, it is a fundraiser benefiting the Humane Society. There is a 1.5 mile walk around downtown Huntsville.

Hey,

I'm in tuscaloosa right now, but am moving up to Huntsville in December when I graduate. I'm looking for an apartment in the area that will allow heavy dogs with reasonable rent. The apartments behind books a million on Airport rd allow 40 lbs. but that's the most we have found. Any help would be appreciated. Buck is only 12 weeks old now, but we'll have to get together in december.

Welcome to Huntsville!

I am glad to hear that another boxer owner will be moving to Huntsville. I am not sure where you are wanting to live but I am right off of Madison Blvd. on Zierdt Road by the Aresenal, Sunlake Apartments. It is wonderful over there. There is a 2.5 mile walking track around a lake. It is over by Edgewater residential area, real nice. I have really enjoyed living there and I know that Harry has. It is a great place to go running with dogs, especially boxers. Colonial Grand is over there as well. I will not be there much longer because I just recently bought a house. I know that Sunlake allows dogs over 50 lbs. but you do have to pay a pretty hefty pet deposit. They have to approve all dogs over 25 lbs., which is no big deal. There are lots of places around there to play ball as well. Harry loves to play with the ball off of his leash. There is this little island where we go and play and I do not have to worry about him seeing a cat or something and taking off. It is great!

glad there's another member coming up north. there are alot of places that would welcome you and buck. as mentioned, sun lake and all the colonial chains. I used to live in Charelston Oaks and they allowed large dogs. A good start would be the apartment guide. good luck on the move.

I too am in Tuscaloosa, don't know any other boxer owners here. My puppy is 12 weeks old also, would love to know where you purchased your puppy. Have you found a place to take him to play?

I haven't seen any other boxers here in T-town. My fiance actually keeps him during the week in Huntsville. However, she brings him down about every other weekend, so we'll definately have to get together. I got Buck from a family in Athens. He had a boy and a girl and they accidentally got together one week before she was scheduled to be spayed. Buck is a great dog full of energy and joy. Anywho, PM me, and give me your e mail or phone number and I'll let you know when he is in town and would be glad to get together and the two of them play.

LOL, joint custody is about right. We both love him to death though. It's always one of the best parts of fridays though, because I know I get to see him. I would keep him full time, but my brother, whom I live with, tends to be allergic to animals and i wouldn't want to do anything to harm him.

Just to let you know. All Boxers are perfect. At least they think they are.
Once you get one you will want another and another. You will never be happy with any other breed.

Another Alabamian

Hello I'm also from North Alabama, I live ten miles south of Huntsville. I've heard of paws in the park, but I've never been! I've only lived here for a year. I moved here from southern Tennessee, after I got married.
