I have recently saved a boxer from being left for dead from a family that moved and left him behind. No, I don't know all the details or the family. I just know he needed a family and it just happened to be that we wanted a dog, a boxer, and he was available. As a kid, I had 2 different bulldogs. One had a friend that was a boxer, that played with her all the time. It was like watching kids play in the yard.
I have always wanted a boxer and this was my chance. I will have to say, he is very well mannered. Goes potty outside, doesn't bite, doesn't bark at other dogs, just a good ole dog. I joined the forum to see how other owners deal with training and so on. I would like to train him to be obedient and obey my commands. I have only had him for five days, but I can see he is already part of the family.
I have a seven year old daughter and a wife. He is my protector when I am not around.
