RICKKOKO
Boxer Pal
Hello all. I was very happy to find BOXERWORLD. My wife and I have rescued a 6 year old white female named Koko, previously owned since birth by a young woman that could no longer care for her. She named her Koko, as in KO, the abbreviation for a knockout in boxing. Koko is a great addition to our home which includes our old lady, Ginger, a very sweet 15 year old mixed breed, and Wishbone, our unusually mellow male Jack Russell, also 15 years old. He's old and blind (detached retinas are common in Jacks) but gets around amazingly well and absolutely rules the house. We rescued Ginger when she was just a year old at the MSPCA and Wishbone has owned us since he was a puppy. But, back to our beautiful boxer; after Koko was abandoned on our doorstep, we embraced her and she is a fabulous dog. We immediately took her to the vet for spaying and to have several large fatty lumps removed. Her weight was low (about 45 lbs) and too much ribs, backbone showing. Over the past 8 months she's gaining steadily, gets plenty of exercise on our farmland and is now a healthy and solid 55 lbs and with rippling muscles under that very thin white coat. She's my buddy and daily companion, a complete goof ball that goes pretty much everywhere with me. I'll post up some photos. Thanks so much for having this great site. I look forward to reading, learning and sharing.
