I'm wondering if anyone has had these symptoms with their boxer. My girl Kallie was doing her "hot laps" around the back yard, she stopped to come in the house and collapsed, she urinated on herself and her gums and paws turned as white as her fur. I rushed her to the vet and they are checking her heart, we are waiting patiently to hear from them. Do these symptoms sound familliar to anyone. All the websites i have seen talking about BCM or SAS say it is most commonly found in older dogs and my Kallie is only 10 1/2 months old. I just want some opinions on what it may be. Thank you.

It does sound very typical of a Boxer heart problem, unfortunately; she's younger than average but there have been dogs even younger than her that have been diagnosed with one or the other. It could also be something like hypoglycemia, or anemia (typically from hookworms); if a Doppler and Holter don't show any unusual signs, those might be the next thing to consider.

Sorry to hear about your pup. I know it is hard but try to wait for the results and not make yourself crazy. It could be a one time event unrelated to her heart and due to something else. If it is her heart there are many treatments now that can help them. Finally my boy was diagnosed at 5 months with SAS and went on meds. He will be six years old next month and is going strong :) Hang in there and let us know what they find

Completely Boxer Crazy
So sorry to hear about your girl. When Snubby passed out the first time for me, it was unimaginably scary. ELubas is right, if it is heart related there are treatments out there and there are dogs who live full lives, even with heart troubles. Hang in there and let us know what results you get.

Well...

The doctor has suggested Neurocardiogenic Bradycardia Syncope or BCM. We get to take a 4 hour trip to the specialist though before we know for sure.. anyone have a dog with The Neurocardiogenic Bradycardia?

My Arley was only 6 months old when he was diagnoised with cardiomyopathy and he just turned 5 last month.

Hang in there.
