Have you been told "He/She doesnt look like a Boxer" ??

Just wondering if any of you have heard this before? There have been quite a few people who have told my husband and I that Princess doesnt "look like a boxer." I always ask them "Well what does she look like then?", or "How many Boxers have you seen?" They never really have an answer except for that her legs are longer than most....which I see by most of your photos that isnt true. Just curious as to what you all think. I dont have any pics uploaded yet except for my avatar but I think she is the most BEAUTIFUL Boxer in the world!! (I know I'm a little biased, )

I get a lot of ignorant (not using that term offensively, just as a description of people who do not know/are not educated about dog breeds) people who ask me if Hurricane is a Pit Bull, at least once per week I am asked that question. I don't think he looks anything LIKE a pit, but that being said... for people have never been around eitherBoxers or Pit Bulls, there are some common ancestors in the breeds so I can see where maybe they get that.

Don't worry about it, some people just don't know. I think your baby is quite beautiful!

I hear you! A lot of people mistaken Sally & Sam as pits- especially when they are smaller.

When Rookie was still a puppy (around 5 months) my husband and I were in a drive thru line and the lady handing us our food told us that our little girl was a boston terrier. We were dumb enough to debate it with the fool. The funniest part about it is that we have a boston terrier.

I hear you there. I just had someone comment on my computer background (my babies of course) and they asked if they were pits? All I said was really?? take a closer look....have you ever seen a boxer!? Luckily he just laughed and apologized saying they did look like boxers after all....I think we've all gotten it or are going to get it at some point. I have nothing against pits, but my babies look nothing like a pit. We're all boxer here!

I have had a handful of people ask if Duke is a Pitbbull ??????

O'ya we get that quite often w/Mo. Since he is white alot of people at first glance think of him as a pit as well.

I've also had questions asked by a few people to whether or not ABBY was a PitBull. And then they will answer their own questions by saying something stupid like, "She don't really look like one." or "She looks more like one of those Boxers.". DUH!

Oh yes... my ignorant neighbors believe Chief is a pitbull and won't listen otherwise! :rolleyes: It is quite frustrating in these terms! I try to explain... but THEY KNOW!!!!

LOL!! I am SOOOO glad I'm not the only one who has heard this craziness!! I was starting to get a complex, . I personally think that all of our babies are gorgeous and the fact that they all can look so different yet still be the beautiful and UNMISTAKEABLE Boxer is what makes them so unique!
