I finally said enough and put it into God's hands. I figured if I was meant to have a baby I would have one. I didn't go thru the IVF because I couldn't afford it. You're fortunate that you can.

ps...I did finally get my baby and I cherish every day with him.
sorry to ramble, but this is a topic that is very dear to me.

our government health pays part of the fee for the ivf program but it still costs alot and my private health fund pays for my private hospital day visit for the egg collection, but i do feel guilty in a way that because of my problems it is costing so much per go (but i know hubby wants it as much as i do and he says not to worry about the $$$ because we will find it each time we need to) and i know it will be worth it in the end and that once a child is here the costof the ivf will pale compared to the cost of raising the child.

I don't really have any advice to offer but I just wanted to wish you lots of luck. I worked with a woman a few years ago who did IVF. I think she did 3 cycles. On the last cycle she & her DH agreed that if it did not work that they weren't going to try again for a while because it was so emotionally draining but they didn't need to try again because it worked. She is now the mom to a set of twins - a beautiful boy & girl.

I wanted to chime in, as well, that I have several friends who've done IVF and had twins. Both friends ended up with a girl and a boy. I don't know how manh times the tried. I also have a friend who tried everything and finally gave up. A couple years later, she wasn't feeling well and went to the doctor and it turned out she was pregnant. Two and a half hears later, she was pregnant again. This happened after they'd tried IVF and everything under the sun for several years!

I'll keep you in my thoughts...
