Happy Pea, is this a normal male boxer problem?

Ive read a lot about this on the forums and was just wondering if this is normal, neither of my dogs do this, but i did meet a boxer before that would. so i was just wondering if this is a huge problem with male boxers or what the deal with it is.

As in they have an accident when they are excited?? Torin is my first male and he does not do this. My previous girl did this up until she was about 1.5 years and then she got over it. My sisters female did this till she was more mature as well, although over the holidays I stopped in and she was so excited to see me that she did it. My SIL was embarrased that Princess did this, I told her Princess was probably embarrased too as she is now 6 and hasn't done it for ages LOL.

Nestle did this a lot more when she was younger and still does for people that she gets really excited to see (like my aunt who she stays with when we're on vacation). From my experience it's not just a boxer thing. In my business I am around many different dogs every day and there are several females who do this when they first see me. My friend has a Flat-Coated Retriever mix who does this too.

I think it's something that most breeds are guilty of (but only certain dogs). I've known a few Pomeranians and other assorted small breeds that do this. I always thought it was more a trait of smaller dogs. This is the first time I've heard of a Boxer, or any other larger dog, do this.

I've also always heard it refered to it as submissive peeing, no matter how excited they appear.

My male boxer did this a couple of times the first month we got him (he was 3mo old at the time). He hasn't done this since that first month. I figured it had to do with being in a new home. He did look excited at the time but who knows what was really going on in his head.

I have always heard that Cockers do this.

Growing up, we had a female Boykin Spaniel who to her day crossing over to the bridge would do it if she was excited or hadn't seen you in a while - kinda thing.

My male Rottie - Magnum, who is at the bridge with her, did this on occassion, but it was usually if we went on vacation and boarded him or he was away from us for any length of time..

Lisa does this when she is excited, she is 6 years old.

Biff's never done it, but my daughter has two female dogs, and one of them is quite guilty of it, so I think, not just boxers, but any breed of dog, and usually female
