  Well, that just about sums up Australia :p Don't think that I'll mention I'm a born and bred Queenslander though....

BTW Debbie, won't your grandchild be an Aussie???? Be afraid, be very afraid....

We celebrated Australia Day in typical fashion, by forgetting just why we had a Monday off work, but being very thankful for our great Public Holiday system. Also pleased to hear that Steve Waugh is Aussie of the Year, apparently the third retiring skipper in a row to make the cut over the years (thank you Richie Benaud for that bit of info - better than a monologue about seagulls at least :p ).

Dinner on the crest = Kangaroo and Emu :)

Our grandchild will be taught the Queens English and all Australian slang will be forbidden!
He/she will be raised with jandals not THONGS and no way will any grandchild of mine be consuming Kangaroo or Emu!!!
Vegemite will be permitted :D

We will only recognise our grandchilds Australian heritage when you lot beat us at footy etc!
ROFLMAO

I used to find Waugh cute in my younger days.
(I always hated Benaud for his monologue on earrings!!!)

Hey Juno, India is playing some great cricket out here :) Really good matches to watch. V V S Laxman is an amazing cricketer.

I hate to say it, but Benaud has grown on me over the years and it will probably be a bit sad when he retires (if he retires LOL)... I find him irritating, but would probably miss being irritated by him. Oh well, many of the others are just as annoying, if not more so (Hello Tony Greig and Shane Warne)

How much I miss watching cricket--these days I am so out of it. Here it is pretty expensive to get cricket on our satellite. I know what you mean by ''growing on you"--infact I don't exactly dislike Benaud..........his commentary was always entertaining. Good to hear that India is playing good. smashicon
