Happy and sad today

I am both happy and sad today. Lucy is at the vet to be spayed and I miss her terribly and am a little worried about her. I know this is a common procedure but can't help but think about all the things that can go wrong even in routine procedures. Meanwhile we have a visitor, Hannah at my house to keep Rocky company until Lucy gets back. My friend (Hannah's dad) went pheasant hunting with my husband and I get to keep Hannah. She is a beautiful brindle (both my babies are fawn) and very sweet. She is Rocky's best girlfriend and they get along great. I am happy for her extra company while I wait for Lucy to get back home.

I know it's scary but try not to worry. The amount of times that things actually go wrong are so small compared to the times that all goes according to plan. Unfortunately, we so often only hear about the bad!

I cried like a baby when I said goodbye to Daisy at the vet for her spaying - she couldn't care less and happily trotted away!

Try to keep smiling and enjoy Hannah and Rocky! I know Lucy will be fine :)!

I can totally relate

Hi,

I can totally relate to your feelings. It's so hard, I know. Goodluck, keep us posted! Lucy will be home before you know it!

Thanks for the support. Lucy is home and sleeping contently in her kennel. She did very well but looks a little like Frankesteins monster. She was spayed so she has tummy stitches, shaved leg where the IV was and also had a lump removed from the side of her chest so she has a two inch incision and a HUGE bald spot. She is a trooper though and gave me tons of kisses when we got into the car. God I missed her so much and she was only gone for 24 hours. She got kisses from Rocky and Hannah when we got home. Right now everyone is resting. I love having all three of them here. I wonder what John will say when I tell him I am keeping Hannah!!!

Sending lots of healing vibes to Lucy Girl. She should be up and bouncing in no time!! Every single one of us has felt bad, sending our babies in for a spay or neuter, even though we know it is a good thing. From the time we dropped Grunt off for his neuter to the time we picked him up that evening, I was crying off and on all day. That is bad!! I probably would have been better if I had had 2 boxers, like Rocky and Hannah, to keep my mind occupied. :)
