Halle broke my toe!

I think someone started a thread recently about our Boxers injuring us...well here's mine. On Friday night I thought Halle was chewing on the remote (again) so I went to go for the remote and she started to take off so I stepped on the leash to stop her. Somehow the leash got wrapped around or between my toes and her 65 lbs snapped my fourth toe over and broke it! So here I am in one of those attractive boot things you have to wear for 2 weeks. Turns out all she had was one of her chew bones. Oh, for the love of a boxer...

Oooh..........sorry to hear about your toe, hope it heals very soon. The worst is there isn't a thing they can do for you except those darn shoes! I am very sure that your sweetheart didn't mean it- it was an accident- after all my husband says my dogs do no wrong and if they do I will find a reason why- LOL. Get better quick! Love, Jewel

I'm sorry about your toe! I hope it heals quickly!

I swear, you never realize how much you use your toes and fingers until they hurt! I got my little finger caught in Samantha's collar one time, she twisted around, and tore some ligaments in my finger. I couldn't straighten it out, it's called a mallet finger. I had to wear a little splint on that finger for 12 weeks! It still looks crooked.

Thanks for all of your well wishes! I know she didn't mean it, the whole thing was actually comical (sp) as is every day in the life w/ a Boxer. When I fell to the floor she thought I was playing and started jumping on me. Now she smells the boot like 'did I do that?'

Ouch!!!!!!! a broken toe hurts!! I broke one once chasing Tia when she was a toddler

Ouch! I bet Halle feels terrible for hurting her mom. I have a lovely set of scars across the top of my foot from Shadow using it as his "burn" runway. The woman we adopted Shadow from suffered a spiral fracture to her finger and torn ligaments in her knee during episodes of Shadow's furdaddy going after him. I think all of us boxer moms can agree that the layers of bruises are just "love marks" from overzealous babies! Best of luck with the foot!

Sorry to hear about your toe. My sons Pitt once broke my pinky when I tried to pull him away from another dog. So far Rocky has just given me lots of black & blues. I tell my husband if I have to go for a physical the our Doctor will think he is abusing me. When really it's just my big boy giving mommy loving.
