Boxer Buddy
I am so sad. After much testing, our vet has confirmed that my 10 1/2 yr old boy gus has carcinoma in his lungs in addition to a heart murmur with VPC.
My husband and I are crushed. Over the years I have read about everyone elses battle with these same boxer health issues and I am overwhelmed with grief. We never saw this coming as he had just developed a cough and didn't show us any signs he was ill! We went through the corneal eye ulcers last year and other than that he has been healthy active and happy!
The vet school says he's a good candidate for chemo since he's healthy otherwise, but just how much do you put your baby through when you know the end result will be the same?Like their bodies just give out. Visits every week for tests, chemo every 3 weeks, it seems like a lot. It has metastasized in his lungs from a primary mass so operating is not an option. After 2 days at the vet I just want him home. What can I do to make the rest of his time comfortable and quality?
Thanks for listening.
