I'm so angry! Bis and her beagle friends just chewed the heck out of one of the neighbors datschunds. It some how ended up in my fenced yard which I check everyday for gaps and holes. These are the same dogs that come tease them everyday with the neighbors kids if you can call the little spawns of satan kids. Everyday since we fenced in the yard last year these kids around seven and four years old either come sit in the road in front of my house or in the ditch in front of my house. Every day they bring their three little yappy dogs and tease my dogs. All of this is on purpose hubby caught them throwing rocks at my dogs two weeks ago. We've talked to the parents several times in their responce is well if you don't like it call the cops. We did after the rock throwing incedent but that hasn't helped at all and unless they are on our property or harming the dogs there is nothing they can do anyways. To get back to the issue somehow one of the little rat dogs ended up in our fence the kids said the dog went under the fence but the neighbor who was mowing his lawn said the older kid 7yr old threw the dog over the fence. fence is four feet high. So after months of teasing my dogs decided to get some justice and chewed him up pretty good. The problem is in most cases I would willingly pay for the vet bill if my animals harmed another none of them are aggressive but after being tormented for so long I think they lost it, But if that little puke threw the dog over the fence as the neighbor witnessed then It'll be a cold day in hell that I pay for their dogs vet bills. I know by law I nor my dogs are at fault as they were in a fenced yard and the other dog was not under it's owners control. I'm just afraid these neighbors will raise a stink and I don't think they would think twice about throwing anti freeze laced treats over the fence this is the adults now not the kids. I'm tempted to report the incedent but if they do anything to my dogs in retaliation there will be hell to pay. Sorry so long hubby is at work and I needed to vent before I went over and blew my top. I had to force an apology out earlier about the whole situation in the mean time I'm thinking if you kept your mutts and kids at home this would never have happened in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

First I would definantly contact the proper authorities to report the incident. If there is any retaliation you will atleast have a report on file. There should be leash laws in your state that you should check into and mention to the authorities. Secondly, I would contact animal control in regards to the child throwing the dog over the fence as witnessed by your neighbor. Any adult who allows their child to treat a dog in that manner does NOT deserve the privilege of owning any. On the same note, many children who mistreat animals also have other problems later in life. If it ever happens again, I highly recommend not releasing the dog back to it's owners and contacting animal control immediately instead. I am sorry that the poor dog was injured due to irresponsible ownership :(

I totally agree w/ you. If they think they can go this far then what's to keep them from going further? Just keep your head about the whole situation. I know that it is easier said than done b/c to be honest w/ you I have no idea what I would do if somebody messed w/ my dog. I just know that they would not do it but one time!!! So, I just want to let you know that someone is on your side. Keep us posted with your situation.

This is the reason why I want to move out into the country where my driveway is 1/4 long and I can't see my closest neighbour! I am sick of other peoples dogs! and other people! The above advice is good, make sure you take the right steps, after al l you do have to live next door to these people. Keep it all documented.or if you have a video camera!!!!

Let me offer a suggestion for if they come back to tease your dogs again: Get the hose!

I did this and believe me, it works.

A woman thought it was cute to walk her dog right up to my back fence and tease my dogs. While my dogs can't get out of the fence, they would get overly excited and aggressive over this dog that was challenging them. If they got too much, they would start fighting with each other. I was getting worried they would really get into a fight. I kept asking the woman to go away, but she could come back days later.

One day I heard my dogs fighting at the fence and sure enough, that woman was back with her dog. I quietly drug the hose to the back yard and the LET HER HAVE IT!! A huge wall of water came over the fence and doused both the dog and the lady. She never saw it coming. She was pissed. I yelled that if she came back, I would hose her again. She never walked her dog to my fence again.

Call Animal Control and all other agencies of that sort and report them for cruelty. Throwing that dog over the fence is reprehensible and they should be punished for it. I'm outraged!!

Make sure you get the neighbor's cooperation and a statement so that there is proof that someone saw this kid throw the dog over the fence purposely in harm's way.

This is so outrageous. I'm so sorry you have to deal with people like this jess. Make sure you don't let the dogs out unattended anymore. I know that's a hassle, but better safe than sorry if these are the type people who would throw a dog into a "fight," then they'd do just about anything. Be very careful.

Good luck and make sure you report this to all authorities, as Aimee said, just so it is on the record.

That is a bad thing to have to deal with. What is wrong with these kids parents? It is also true that children who purposely hurt animals have some issues, such as abuse or mental problems. My little girl goes in the backyard to play with our dogs, and I would be on fire if that happened to us.

As for that poor dog that was thrown over the fence, he deserves better than that. If it happened again, I too would hold it and contact animal control.

I love the water hose idea. That would make them mad, but you couldn't get in trouble for that kind of retaliation. Lots of luck on this.

I would call the cops as soon as you saw them throw rocks at your dog, that is a no go in my book. As for them throwing the dog over the fence, I would tell that to the cops, especially since you have a 3rd party witness. Sorry to hear you have such crappy kids around :(
