bubba has been acting very strange the past couple of days. he acts like his back legs just don't want to work. i took him to the vet and he couldn't find anything wrong. they did xrays and nothing showed up. sometimes when you touch him he whines and other times he is fine. he will be four months on wednesday. do boxers have growing pains? is this why he is miserable. he is still eating and his tail is wagging. if i help him up he can walk, but then he just falls down sometimes. any info on this would be greatly appreciated by both me and bubba.

thanks in advance,
kristin

also

He is sleeping all of the time, and since i posted the last one, this afternoon he won't walk at all. we have to pick him up and carry him outside. It breaks my heart seeing him like this. I am definitly taking him back to the vet in the morning.

Sounds pretty serious. I have no advice for you, but I just wanted to say I hope he gets to feeling better soon. Poor thing! I hope they find out what it is when you take him to the vet.

Here are a couple of sites which look at Panosteitis (growing pains) in dogs.
I'd go back to the vet so as for you to get a definate indication of what poor Bubba is suffering from. If it is indeed Panosteitis your vet should be able to give you some sort of medication for Bubba's pain. In the 2 sites I have given you they do cover various medications & some vitamin supplements that should be able to help.
Is Bubba over weight? If he is I'd put him on a diet so that he is not carrying around any extra lbs during this uncomfortable time.
Bottom line is, before you can treat Bubba you have to find out what it is he is suffering from.
Hope Bubba is all better soon. Please keep us updated on his progress.
