Got a nasty letter from garbage company

We have a little garbage can outside behind the garage that I line with used grocery bags. I empty once or twice a week, double bag it and throw it in with the regular garbage. So far we have had no problems.

I would like one of those doggie dollie systems but my husband refuses to dig the hole!!!

I simply toss it over the fence to the house next door. No, just kidding, I wish though, sure would be easy to do .

I go out every couple of days and put it in a bag, tie it shut, and put in garbage can. I must say that since we got little Bauer, our back yard sure is green, compared to what it was before we got him :D

Because I live out in the county, we do not have trash pick up. We take our own trash to the dump. So I do a "trash run" about every other day. Bit of a hassle but I never have to worry about anyone refusing to take my trash because of doggie poo. With four boxers I sure do have my share of it too..

Same with us. We take the trash to the dump every few days. It is usually in a big black back. All my kitchen trash bags are in the big black one. They dont' say anything because they can't see!

When i clean the yard, I put it in the little bucket I carry, and then toss it in the woods. We only have 2 dogs, and a big lot behind us, the poo will disintergrate in time!

tell the garbage man thats fine, you will just take your dog to public property from now on to poo, and leave it there! Geez- these people do not use logic- what do they expect us to keep it in the yard??? We taught Samson to go into the woods to poo... noone walks back there and it goes away after awhile...

But you use coffee grounds too??? I dunno what more you could possibly do! Tell the guy if he doesnt like his job, then quit!

In the small arkansas town that we live in....we have two different landfills and one city owned and operated sanitation department. They are also very strict about what type of refuse goes to which landfill. Puppy Poop..goes to the "garbage" landfill and yard clippings, limbs to the other one. We bag our daily poo in double walmart bags ...and toss in "garbage" bucket. (same with our kitty litter)

Doggie Doolie

Glad this came up. Right now, we do poopie pick ups in the yard once or twice a day (I have 3 dogs). We put it in paper grocery bags, and then we put the grocery bag in our regular trash can. But I've wondered about the doggie doolie's forever. I've considered getting one for the longest time, but I don't know anyone else who's used it and I want to find out more info. Anyone else here use it? Does it just disintegrate the poop on it's own, with the stuff you put in it? Then what happens to it? Can it hold enough for 3 dogs daily? How long does a doolie last? Anyone have any info, would appreciate it.

We bag it up in a trash bag and just throw out with the rest of the trash. We get our trash picked up twice a week, so it doesn't get too bad. Everybody else in the subdivision does the same thing.. I have also thought about getting a doggie doolie, but it says it doesn't work in red clay, and here in South Carolina, that's all that we have.

Kind of runs counter to common sense, huh? I compost mine, along with yard waste and biodegradable household waste - the product is an incredibly rich (and free) fertizlized topsoil additive for spring planting.

See that was what I thought too, that is why I was also using the coffee grounds to help break the poo down faster.....maybe I will just bag it up and start selling it out in front of my house:D:
I was out of town today so I will be calling them in the morning. I will let you know what they say.

This is so funny. We live on a farm and own land all around us. We scoop in an old dishpan and toss in the field behind us. (By-the-way, soybeans were much taller and fuller where we tossed Sophie's "by-products")! Patty and Sophie
