I am so sorry to hear about Killian. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that he is now running and playing like a puppy and appreciates that you were able to make this huge sacrifice so he wouldn't suffer. You gave him a wonderful life in a caring, kind environment and he was able to feel completely loved his whole life with you. ((((HUGS)))) to you, your DH and your son. Godspeed sweet Killian.

I was so sad to see this thread this morning. You did the best you could for Killian and had the strength to let him go and be pain-free when the time was right. I'll be thinking of you and your family and hoping that it isn't long before the good memories start to be more frequent than the sadness brought on by his passing.

I know exactly how you feel. I had to do this in 2005 for my first two beloved boxer babies. It is one of the hardest things we will ever do, to help them leave us when we know it's time to let them go. At first it seems that nothing will be right again, but focusing on all the good times helps to ease the pain and as time goes by the memories become sweeter, happier and less tinged with grief.
My heart goes out to you and your family as you grieve for Killian. It sounds like he was an amazing boxer boy who embodied all the reasons we fall in love with this breed over and over again.
We'll light a candle for Killian tonight and rejoice in all the joyous years you spent together. Godspeed, sweet boy.
