Georgia: Please accept my heartfelt sympathies during this difficult time. It is so hard to lose our babies - especially so young. I am sure that Belle knew that you were doing what you had to do to end her pain. Belle will always live on in the spot in her heart she carved out the moment she joined your family. i am so very sorry to hear about your loss of belle and i write this through tears as our peanur was lost to the same thing on 2-15-05. we just got back from two weeks away yesterday, so this is the first time i am checkin g boxerworld in awhile. It was our first return to our home without our Peanut to greet us. although i have had dreams about her since her passing, i swear to you she came to me in my sleep last night after i came home and held her collar and ashes close. this dream was different than the others.

i know how hard it is amd its not fair to them or us. but know that belle is in a peaceful place now. that is all i could do to get through the loss of our sweet girl. you did the right thing, and it was selfless and will be painful for awhile. know that belle was greeted at the bridge by peanut and all the other beautiful boxer (and others) babies.....they feel no pain, and only know love and health now. i know that we will see them again. just take extra special care of you and your family now and we keep you in our hearts, thoughts and prayers, and will light a candle for belle too.....

Georgia, when I saw your post my heart just broke and the tears are flowing freely as I write this to you. I'm so sorry that Belle had to leave you.You both fought a very hard battle. I'm positive that she knew how much she was loved and you gave her the greatest gift of love possible,no more suffering. She is now running and playing like the ornery puppy she was meant to be,chasing the butterflies and running through the tall grasses at the bridge. I'm sure that Gunnar was there to meet her, along with sweet Markus and Mr.B. She has her angel wings now and will be watching over you with all the love the two of you shared. Sending you prayers to stay strong and hugs from all of us here at BW.

Godspeed sweet baby Belle angelicon.Watch over your mom,she misses you so.

I am so very sorry for your loss of Belle. I have been following your story. I lost my Finley when he was just 8 months old - I know he greeted Belle and are playing like crazy Boxer puppies! I know how hard it is to make that decision but you did the right thing and Belle knows it.
You and your family are in my thoughts.

I am so sorry

I am so sorry you lost your little baby. I am in tears just reading your post. That is the worst thing to have to go through. We had to put our 1st boxer down from cancer when she just looked perfectly fine and all she cared about was us, you could tell. She too was licking our tears. We did get to enjoy her for 11 years though and for that I am thankful. My heart goes out to you!!!!!

Take care

Thanks so much for all of your kind words and support. It was a very difficult weekend, with a lot of tears and what ifs. Our vet has been wonderful and called me on Friday to see how we were doing. She explained to me that she believed the blood clot in Belle’s heart was breaking away in small pieces that were going into her lungs, since Belle could not get any relief from the medications we were giving her for what we thought was fluid in her lungs. It is such a tragedy that poor sweet Belle had to go though such an awful illness, but what touches me the most is that she never let it affect her kind and gentle nature. She always and a nice face licking, and butt wiggle for everybody, even if they were about to stick her with another needle.

I find that every time I walk into a room where Lacy is, I automatically check her breathing. This is a habit I got into with Belle because that was a quick way to assess her condition. Last night, I was folding clothes on the bed and Lacy was snuggled up in the pillows, when my son walked into the room. I looked up and noticed that the first thing my son did upon walking into the room, was check Lacy’s breathing. It just broke my heart to realize that he had such big concerns on his mind. I told him that was something I find myself doing (even though it’s not necessary), and we had a good cry about it.

I pray that soon the happy times we had with Belle will replace the sadness in our hearts. It certainly helps to know we have the prayers and support of our Boxerworld friends.
