Goodbye Sweet Belle - You are my Angel

Late last night, Belle once again developed breathing difficulties. I spoke with the vet, and she offered to come over to the house if I wanted her to help Belle cross over the bridge. I decided that Belle deserved more time, but this morning her breathing was still labored and my girl just wasn’t herself. I knew in my heart that I could not sit by and watch my sweet baby suffer. Belle cross over the bridge this morning with me by her side. Now she will never know any more pain and suffering. Dilated cardiomyopathy is a horrible, horrible disease, and I can’t believe it only took three months to take my baby away from me. Even to the end, Belle was full of kisses, and was licking the tears off of my face as she lay in the nice comfortable spot the vet made for her. I wonder what was going through her mind. I hope she knows that what I did, I did out of love for her. I told her over and over how much she meant to us. I just hope she understands. My kids are at school and don’t know that Belle is gone yet, so this terribly difficult day still has some more sad times to come. I am trying to take comfort in the fact that Belle is at peace now. I also smile at the thought of all the wonderful boxers who were there to meet her at the bridge.

Oh Georgia, I'm so terribly sorry. I've been following your struggle with Belle's illness for a while and am so sad to read your post this morning. I pray that you find peace with your most difficult decision. You know you did what was right for her and her suffering has now ceased. God bless you and your family during this very difficult time.

With sympathy,
Julie

I am so sorry

Georgia, I know how difficult it is to lose a puppy too and my heart aches for you and your family. You fought the battle fiercely and so did Belle. She was lucky to have you and your family to love and in return she gave you her most precious gift, her unconditional love, for as long as she could. May you find strength to get through this with your family, and may the emptiness you feel in your heart be filled with the love Belle brought into your life. Nothing, not even this terrible illness Belle endured so unfairly, can ever take away the joy she has brought into your lives.

Godspeed sweet baby Belle. My sweet Gunnar, run and play with Belle at the bridge and be the happy, silly puppies you were meant to be.

I am so sorry to hear about Belle. It was the best thing you could have done, although it doesn't seem like that now. It is the hardest thing I have had to do. I wish I could have stayed by Cody when he crossed the bridge but I couldn't. He was out of it from the seizures and I hope he knows how much I love him and had to walk away from him.

Sounds like you did the best you could for sweet little Belle. She is now running with all our other sweet boxers. Sending hugs to you and your family.

Georgia,
I have also been following your posts on Belle. My heart sank when I saw the post of Belle's passing. I am positive that Belle knows that you did what you did out of love for her & not wanting her to be in pain.

Run free at the bridge sweet Belle you are now healthy again:)
My deepest sympathies to you & your family.

I am so sorry sweet Belle has passed. I had followed your threads, but not responded. I know from three beloved pets the difficulty of living and surviving heart disease. I wish things would have turned out differently as Belle was so very young and full of promise.

Godspeed little one.
