I always say ...Boo is my son ....I treat him just like I did my kids...he minds better .....I know where he is at night ....& he doesn't ask to use my car. Guess these people has never owned a boxer..if they don't except my Boo ...they don't except me !

I get that all the time... I usually just tell them the truth...I would rather spend time with Boomer than spend time with most of the people I know. He's my best friend, and I love him. (He's also smarter than many people I know ).

I'd just ingore them. It's normally those who don't have any pets, that don't understand how we could love a dog that much. All my pets are spoiled rotten, and everyone else can think what they want.

Over the years, I too have had people say rediculous things like that to me!

Guess thats why after all these years, I have very few friends and LOTS of boxers! :D

I tell them that she is my child!! My best friend has a shepherd and leaves her outside all day long and it frustrates me to know in.....So, she gives me hell about not leaving Kiki out while I am at work- -she knows why I don't. I would never leave my child outside all day in any conditions...and that is what I said to her. As for my family, they know and understand the not having babies thing so they love it that I baby her. Pets are people too!

I dont think you can ever baby them too much. They give me back 10-fold what I give them. People and my husband tell me I baby my 3 boxers too much, but it makes them very well behaved dogs. They are always there for me, and make me feel better. Cant say that about alot of "real" people. I acually get a little upset sometimes, but its usually meant it a good-natured way. As for my husband, its jealousy, I think. Cant help that people dont know what they are missing.

I hate when people comment on that!!! I just say I treat him the same as my 4 skinkids and hes the best behaved of the lot :D

Hey, as long as your dog is loved, is well cared for, is getting obedience training, and knows who's in charge... why not spoil him?

Our house rule is that if Sampson wants a treat, he has to earn it. It helps us refresh some of the training (more for us than for him).
