Great news - Shame they missed out on so much of the growing stages though.

I wish that all vets would run the scanner over all dogs that come to them every single time.

Rogue has never had anyone check her chip as of yet.

What a happy ending - for a change.

We had Lisa chipped within 2 weeks of getting her.

That is a great story We have both our boys chipped!!!! Especially because we live next to two major highways :eek:

And people wondered why I wanted to chip my babies so young! People (including the vet) told me to wait until they were spayed and neutered so they would be under when it was done. My town will not license any dog under 6 mths old so the only ID;s they would have had would be something i put on them.

I persisted and found a chipping clinic and had it done at 1/2 the cost it normally is and I got piece of mind knowing that they were chipped should they ever get lost/stolen. They were 10 & 13 wks when they were chipped (they would have been done sooner but I couldn't find a place to do it)

So happy for that family that got their furface back! Too bad they missed out on the whole puppy phase. But now they have years and years to make up for lost time

I'm getting on Board!

I do not currently have my dogs chipped and now I am paying the price, as my baby Pebbles got out of my yard and has been missing for several days. I'm doing everything I can to find her locally, but those stories of animals ending up hundreds of miles away are just ripping my heart out. My other dogs are on the way to the vet to chipped asap! I just wish I had acted sooner. I could have my baby back by now.

We had Jazzy chipped two months ago. I couldn't think of her missing or stolen, I would die. I am VERY relieved to hear success stories on these chips. It is truly an inexpensive way to help in getting you baby back home.

A couple of years ago I adopted a dog from a friend who couldn't take care of her anymore. I took her to my vet (who I know very well) for a check up. He scanned her to see if she had a chip. He said it was procedure for any one who brings in a new dog that isn't a puppy. I thought it was great.
