Going to Oahu, Hawaii in May...need ideas of things to do!

We are so excited and can't wait for May to get here. We will be spending 6 days on the island of Oahu and want to make sure we hit all the important must-see stuff. If anyone has any ideas we would love hear them! Thanks!

Go one a tour of Dog the Bounty Hunter's business, and maybe you'll meet him, Beth, Tim, or the best of all Leiland! Have fun, can't wait to see pics!

Make sure you go the the PCC (Polynesian Culture Center ) I always recommend that to people because it shows you all the different cultures that have made the South Pacific. Not to mention most of my family dances there! Also don't fall into the tourist traps, if you want some gifts to bring back go the the swap meet/flea market you can get tons of stuff there for cheap. :D

I was station on Oahu for 3 yrs. I take it your a military family. Make sure you check out Pearl Harbor. Go in the moring because it tends to get crowded quickly in the late morning and afternoon. But a must see.
Hike Diamond Head. The view at the top is great. The beach at bellows is really nice. Not to crowded like Wiakiki. Bellows is on an old Air force base. The Pali look out on the windward side of the island is nice. The windward side of the island is very pretty. You have the green mountains and the ocean. Go vist the North shore too. The waves out there are huge and its a nice little surfing town. There is the Dole Plantation by the North shore. The have the worlds laregest maze out there. Do check out the local food. The food out there is wonderful. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. I wish I could go back to vist. Have fun on your trip.

Buy the travel guide Oahu Revealed. The Maui Revealed one was the best travel guide I've ever found. I haven't been there in years and don't have other advice, but just wanted to add that.

Thank you everyone for the wodnerful suggestions! We are still in research-mode and are trying to prioritize the things we want to do. Pearl Harbor is a must as well as the North Shore and a few other things we have come across. I am in the process of checking into some of the places you guys suggested that sound like a blast! When were you there? One of my best friends from college was stationed there. What branch are you in? I would assume Navy, but of course, there are other branches there...
