Giving Our Children Baths!!!!!

Tuggy gets a bath about once a month right now. He gets REAL stinky sometimes, and I won't let him sleep in the bed with me unless he has a bath. He has a tendancy to stick his stinky feet in my face. YUM...boxer paws first thing in the AM.

Bathing him helps with the shedding.

Missy got a bath the day I brought her home. She smelled and her coat was real thick. Once I got done bathing her, I found a pretty little boxer girl underneath all that hair.

Jakes gets a bath when he needs it (when he starts to get the dorito/popcorn smell). He loves the bathtub and hops right in, I use the handheld shower and herbal/natural dog shampoo. You can never leave the door ajar when showering, otherwise you will defintely have Jake for company!

When my Yankee needs a bath, I leave it up to my husband. They actually take a shower together. He says he is going to get we anyway so they may as well shower together. This cracks me up!! But hey, it works and I get to stay dry!!!

once a week

Gregory gets a bath once a week currently. My partner has a particularly sensitive nose and if he smells the least bit, Mark and can smell it all the way throught the house. I use an aloe and oatmeal shampoo that has conditioners in it...so his skin and coat don't seem to be stressed over it. I am going to start cleaning his nails too...they get pretty nasty.

Marley loves baths! When we say "bath time" he jumps right in the tub and waits for us. We use a hand held shower head (very helpful) and oatmeal shampoo. I'm just so thankful that he loves baths. I'm still waiting for the day when he'll jump in the shower with one of us. He's been close!

Justice takes a shower with me about every 3 months, she uses oatmeal basd shampoo and gets a squirt of georgio afterwards, for that feminen smell. I'll stick with my aftershave. The shower was just easier for me and her, although she can't stand the rain, guess its to cold.

I give Ronin a bath only when he starts smelling like a "dog". It's a major undertaking for me to do it too. (He weighs almost as much as I do ) I have to try to get him into the bathroom using his leash and collar. Then he "stiff legs" me as I attempt to lift him into the bathtub. He's still got the whole stiff leg thing going on, so once I get him into the tub, I have to get his front paws off the sides Once he's actually in the bathtub, he's okay. He'll just stand there and let me shampoo him. (I use an Oatmeal shampoo ). Getting him OUT of the bathtub however, is another story. Hence, I only bathe him when it's absolutely necessary :D

It's funny because I just gave Deeg a shower/bath 15 mins. ago then logged on BW and found this thread...Tee hee. Deeg is showing off right now with a high stepping prance...he wants everyone to see how pretty he is after his bath..it is so cute! He thinks he does not like baths but he does. I know this because be melts into me when I am rubbing shampoo. Our local health food store sells bulk Solid Gold shampoo products so I buy Deeg's shampoo there.

I give Max a bath about every 10 to 14 weeks and he never smells just think it is time to give him a bath. He doesn't seem to mind it though, he will try to sneak out of the tub, when I am reaching for something. The shampoo we use is from Jeffers Pet we pick it up at Target and it is pretty expensive about 11 dollars for a small bottle. What I like about it is made for dogs with sensitive skin and it doesn't leave a residue. I think you can bathe them too often. They are very clean dogs.

I give Samson a bath every three weeks. He has dry skin, so I have been looking for a new shampoo. But anyways, no matter how many cookies or happy talk, he hates it! He really just hates water! Some Boxers love water, Sammy could do without. We had him out front with us last summer while we washed our cars and it was pretty hot out. We decided to spray him with the hose lightly and he went crazy!
