I had the same problem with Brody before; I tried absolutely everything-- hot dogs, cheese, peanut butter, STEAK, you name it, but he caught on quickly and learned to just refuse his treats completly. (This was more than a year ago and to this day he will not touch a hot dog.) I had to give him three pills a day for ten days, so here is what I had to end up doing: First, I would crush his pill into powder and mix it with yogurt, then I would add a touch of warm water to thin out the mix, suck it into a syringe and squirt in the back of his mouth. He wouldn't be able to spit it out, even though he tried. You should talk to the vet before trying my "Brody method" however, because there are many meds that cannot be crushed and diluted like that.

What worked best for me was "Pill Pockets". You can buy them in 2 different sizes at most pet stores and at the vets. They are smelly, meaty like chunks with a hole in the middle. You put the pill in and then squeeze the pocket closed.

We have used the pill pockets too. They worked great!! I got mine at Petsmart.

I just saw a video clip on youtube. It said to put the pills in a baggy with cut up hotdogs over night. Then, feed the dog a few pieces of the hotdog, then a pill, and a couple more pieces of hotdog. Keeping them in the bag will give the pills the scent of the hotdog. They suggested that you throw them at the dog and they catch them. I don't think mine would catch a thrown piece of food though, but worth a shot!
