probably mixed...

I just met a bullmastiff a few weeks ago and she had the exact same face as my sweet dutchiedoo! She looked like Dutch, but was 30 pounds heavier than her and the same age!!! Maybe your new baby is part mastiff, too! Anyways, I'm sure he's gorgeous!

Louie's mum - you are absolutely correct as the boxers come from the bullenbeisser / brabanter bullenbeissen which was a mastiff type dog.

My old Bentley, RIP, was a gigantic dog. He has russian blood in him, as over there they like their boxers huge!
When I first got him he weighed around 58kg, not sure how much that is in US pounds...?
He was fat due to neglect, but even when keeping him lean to help his joints he would still weigh in at around 48-50kg.
He was also tall, at about 66 cm's at the withers.
(My Nico is my tallest at the moment, 58 cm)

1kg equals 2.2 American pounds. (thats the only metric conversion I remember ) So if my calculations are correct 58 x's 2.2 is 127.6 pounds..WOW yes, that is a big boy!

48kg is still a big boy thats ummm 105.6 lbs.

Completely Boxer Crazy
It seems like in America, they like their boxers really slim and pretty lightweight.

I personally like them a little on the larger side at least 70-75lbs. and bigger, but not anything real Huge and freakish looking, like some people breed their dogs to be really big and muscular to look like the hulk and they only live about 5 years. Yuck.

My dogs mother is 75lbs and his dad is 85 and neither look out of proportion or anything they arn't overly developed in muscles either, they are just a little bigger.

My girl was 76lbs of pure, solid muscle. Her dire and dam were both on the heavier side but not what I would call giant or freakish.

My Yoda was 78 pounds at 11 months. He still had a lot of growing to do. Man I really miss him!!! It is very differen't than Frog since she averages about 47 pounds. She's just a tiny little thing.

Our Lucky hasn't hit anything above 49 pounds yet, and he is almost 11 months. He is VERY petite, but we like him that way. He can still snuggle with mama that way!

Super Boxer
My male Zeus is on the large size. He is just at 27 inches and about 110lbs currently. He stays around 100 to 105 but has put on the extra five pounds this winter due to weather and me not being able to get him outside for exercise. He normal puts on weight in the winter time and then slims done once the weather is warmer in the early spring. Our female is the normal height and weight ranage for a female. We aren't sure of Zeus' breeding since he was a rescue. The family we did get him from gave us his AKC papers and said that both of his parents where full blooded boxers. We love our Zeus and couldnt imagine him any other way. We do get asked alot if he is American bulldog or part because of his size. There are pictures of him and Isis in my gallery if anyone would like to see.

Ronin is a big boy too - he was one of the dogs who grew "up" for the whole eighteen months, so wow, does he have legs! He stands 27" and weighs 85 lbs. He lost about ten pounds when he was sick, but he's been in a big hury to gain it back!
