Ha! I have almost the same exact situation, except my wedding is June 16th. My sister is due May 8th. She ordered a size 14 or 16 size dress to be on the safe side. They actually had a fake preggerz belly to try with the dress so that helped with the estimation, since most likely she won't be able to be at her pre-baby weight by the wedding.. She already has three other children, her husband and his parents are both going to be attending the wedding and reception, and they're going to watch the kids.

I'm sure she'll have it under control. She should realize that her being the maid of honor is extremely important to you and to start planning way ahead of time for someone to watch her baby either at the wedding or somewhere else. Talk to both the seemstress and the designer/store of the gowns for advice on the dress situation. Just try to be really truthful with her and explain that you want her to be your maid of honor but tell her that she needs to be just as prepared and ready as you are for the wedding to avoid a bad situation.

My baby brothers fiancee asked me to be in her line....and her wedding is in July. I'm due in August. I couldn't say no of course - and even though we haven't told any family of my pregnancy yet I felt I had to tell her in case she didn't want a jumbo bridesmaid. She was excited and started shopping instead for bridesmaids dresses that would accomodate a big belly. I'm going to be miserable, I already know that - but I think it's cute that she insists that I still be in her party. I begged her for an empire waisted dress....we'll see what she comes up with!

Having gotten married last year and including our dogs ( look in gallery ) and then being a bridesmaid in May where one of the other girls was heavily pregnant I hope this info helps

1. We had by Bro in law to be go and get the girls straight after the ceremony and after being left alone in the morning the were so happy to see someone Im sure they wouldve gone with anyone. If you have some time, why not pick a guest/friend/neighbour to become friendly ie more trustworthy with your babies so i f you need them picked up they know whos coming to get them.

2. My vet wanted her boxer girl in her photos so after the cermony her and hubby went home to her - while she has some great picks her girl was so excited to see them she jumped on her dress ,wouldnt settle and some of the photos look like shes in a headlock because she wouldnt sit still!

3. Back to the pregnant bridesmaid, for those who are still going to be pregnant at the time we had a chair off to the side at the ceremony "just in case" and half way through she turned to me pale as a ghost and said 'Do we still have that chair???' no-one even noticed as we quietly changed positions and she sat and had some water - had she passed out Im sure everyone wouldve noticed!

4. Having someone to take care of bubs on the day is great idea because both baby and mum have the piece of mind that eachother is close - breastfeeding friendly dresses are also helpful if they cant be bottle fed.

Hoping that this is helpful in some way! p.s do not forget the treats!!!!

Congrats on your wedding!

My maid of honor had her first child less than two months before our wedding. She really enjoyed the short time away from the baby. I would not suggest asking her to be a guest just because she's going to have a new baby. New mothers already feel so left out of things. It will be really helpful for her if the dad can take care of the baby while she's doing wedding party stuff.

One suggestion I would make is to ask your friend if she plans on breast-feeding. If this is the case, you may want to make sure she will have a good place to do this before and after the ceremony (and maybe again at the reception, if she's still awake ;) ).

Congrats, again, and I wish you the best!

First of all, Congratulations! Second of all, I believe that it will be fine. If your friend thinks it will be okay, I'm sure it will. Obviously, she wants to be in the wedding, since she hasn't turned down the moh position and told you that it will be okay. Relax and have a wonderful day!

Thank you for all your advise, and tips. I am hoping all goes well with this. I love my maid of honor very much, she has been my best friend since highschool. I am just worried that once she has the baby, attending my wedding will be a issue. This is her first child, and it was not planned. She is due 2 months before my wedding, and she agreed to be my maid of honor over a year ago! I amstill undecided if her husband will be invited ( he hit her awhile ago, and we have not been on good terms with him since), so now I am wondering if this will be an issue as well. I feel like I could invite him, just for her, but my fiancee wants nothing to do with the guy, and I understand that. I have already made the decision of no kids at our reception, its just not a place for young children to be! And if I allow my maid of honour to bring her baby, then it will cause problems with everyone else who could not bring there children. So if she is ok, leaving her kid for the day (and she is planning on breast feeding, and getting breast pump) then that would be great, she is my girl, and its hard to imagine my day without her being there, I am just worried of a last minute cancellation, like a month before my wedding, and I then have to scramble for a dress/replacement...arrg!!!

Have you spoken to her recently, I know that she may have a lot more on her mind with the baby coming but maybe since you don´t really want her hubby there at your wedding, she could suggest that he looks after the baby for the night. That way he´s out of the picture and your friend can relax and enjoy herself.
