I am trying to find a good German name for my new female flashy brindle boxer baby, she is only 4 weeks old but the breeder told me she would start using her name as soon as I come up with one. This waiting is driving me crazy.
I have come up with 2 but I am not real sure about them,
1 - Schotzi(reminds me of a name for a schnauzer)
2 - Liebchen(reminds me of a name for a maltese)
I am a dog groomer and have seen those dogs with these names, maybe that's why I don't think they sound right for a Boxer puppy.
Please help, maybe one of you can come up with a good name.

HI,
How about Gretta? (I think that is German) If not,
it sounds like it could be! :)

I have basic names (Chase and Guy) but one odd one (Chafu Paka, means dirty 'head' cat because he is all white with a grey smudge on his head, it's swahili) I really like the suggestion for Leisl, I loved the show and the character is a great namesake :)

How about Heidi or Gretchen or Frauline? We were looking for a German name for our 1st Boxer too. We were trying to think of famous (or infamous) German women but none of the names seemed to fit her. I read an old wives-tale somewhere that you should always name a good dog after a bad man so I thought the same should apply with bad women; thus we named her Eva after Eva Braun. Our youngest was going to be Phoebe, after the character on Friends, because (bless her little heart) she is very very silly and quite ditzy.

:D :D :D

Hey Michelle,
My first two were named Adolf and Eva.

We had no political intentions at the time, but their names sure suited them. What great little monsters they were.
