I have lost quite a bit of weight in the last year, and on top of having 3 kids, the stretch marks are taking over my body!! I was wondering if there was a "cure" for this?? I've heard of cocoa butter cream, but will it work for stretchmarks that have been around for 18yrs??
I was watching "Inked" one night and a woman had all her stretch marks (stomach) colored in with black ink with flames surrounding them. Almost looked like an erupting volcano..sort of. Then I got to thinking about how that is gonna look more like molten lava by the time she's 50...ewww!!
I also like to tan but the stretch marks don't tan!
Finally, I get back the body I lost in my youth, but now there is a freakin road map all over it!! HEEELP!! foolicon

Avon has a cream that works pretty good! I've tried it :D It doesn't really get rid of them, but it sure smooths and softens things out! Its not too pricey and a little lotion goes a long way.

Congrats on the weight loss!!!

I was very lucky and didn't get 1 stretch mark during prengnancy. I was told that nothing really works miracles from my Dr. He did that massaging that area with a thick lotion could make them a little "less noticable."

Congrats on the weight loss!!! And, BTW, you sound like you are doing great!!!!

:fiestaicon: CONGRATS on the weight loss. I am jealous :D
I'm so glad that things are looking up for you. Maybe you can have that plastic surgery that people who've lost a lot of weight have and then you won't have any stretch marks left because they'll be gone with the skin. OK OK I know if you finances are anything like mine that isn't possible even with insurance covering it. Anyway....My DR told me that there is no miracle for stretch marks. Your skin has lost it's elasticity and they won't go away. Kinda like when elastic gets stretched out and weakens. SORRY I know I'm just the bearer of wonderful news.
GOOD LUCK

Congrats on the weight loss, that is great. I got a few stretch marks from having my son, at first I was a little upset, but now I am just over it. I think of it as a small price to pay for my beautiful little boy! My husband still thinks I am a babe, so I just decided there are other things to worry about and I try to accept my body the way it is. It may sound cheesy, but that is just my take on things. Life is too short! :)

You go girl losing all of that weight! That's awesome!

I'm a tad bit on the top heavy side (the most tactful way I could think to put it, sorry) so I've had stretch marks just because of that since I was in my teens. So, I asked a dermatologist and a plastic surgeon about them and they said that stretch marks are just like scars in their structure, so they will fade like scars but probably never go completely away no matter what you put on them. And over the years I have found they were right. They are now faded alot and not really all that noticeable anymore unless you look really close. I was also told by another surgeon that if the stretch marks are raised, the silicone strips they now have on the market can for some people help them fade faster. You might give them a try and see if it helps.

Once again, give yourself a big pat on the back for your hard work!

I dont know if you get it over there, but Bio Oil is supposed to work really well on scars, and seeing as a stretch mark is a scar it works on those too ;)
I have it, but im too lazy to put it on twice a day. Nothing will make them go away (dammit!) but it helps to fade them :)
