Wow! Thank you for all the replies - I wasn't getting updates on my email so I thought no one replied! Thanks for the encouragement and well wishes. I will try to find some of the shows and the Boxer Ring that you all mentioned here. I will also check our NorCal. I think adopting has the most merits of all, but there is something to be said for knowing a dogs full history. I think both ways are great ways to help the breed live deserving lives!

Definitely use Petfinder to search for a boxer in need in a local shelter. I'm not familiar with Legacy's policies, but I know they are a good rescue. Try volunteering with them so they can get to know you better. And yes, your vet should be able to give you a letter that states your dog was neutered and on hw preventative.
There are soooo many boxers in need, especially this time of the year. Please don't give up on adopting yet!
