Completely Boxer Crazy
Baron got boots last week due to the cold and ice. He wasn't too keen on them for the first night, but when he figured he could stay out longer and his little tootsies didn't freeze, he stands and waits for us to put them on now.
The other dog is a collie and has lots more fur so she's out there playing and he stands at the back door like a toddler with the flu who can't go outside and play. Now he gets to go too and wears his coat and boots.

If you take your boxer out for any length of time in the cold, please check their feet for cracks or cuts from the ice and snow. I had one who cut her foot but didn't bleed because of the cold temps. Until she thawed out later that night and tracked blood all over the house.

Ali never had a problem last year with the cold. However, it wasn't a really cold winter. She had no problem jumping in banks of snow. Now, I ran her most of the time on snowmobile trails and not on the streets, where there is salt packed in the ice. My son bought her a new coat this year and I can't wait to try it on her (I left it at his place yesterday). But is is pretty mild here so far and I hope it stays that way. I am not a winter person although I do go out on the trails everyday just for Ali's sake. She knows I need the exercise.

For sure boots and jackets will help :) (look at my gallery. I just put some pictures of Darby in her coat and boots). But I do not walk Darby if it is below 20*. I feel that is just too cold (my opinion). I try to play with Darby indoors or outside for a short time if it is cold out. But I do think it will help your baby out :)

I was looking in your gallery - I love the coat that Darby is wearing. Can you tell me where you got it?

(If someone else knows, I would love to know)

Marley has a coat and boots and he doesn't mind them at all! I got the boots last winter, because he was doing the 3-legged skip alot from the cold sidewalks and the rock salt. Ouch! Yes, it was a struggle for a while to get them on his feet. (and for him to keep them on) but this year, he knows what they are, he seems to understand what they're for, and putting them on is a breeze now! He practically lifts his paws for me to put them on. I highly recommend them. But yes, it is a struggle at first.
