It is a long thread, but it shows there are some nasties in Nutro and a other brands.

Because Innova does not use artificial perservatives, it has a short shelf life, therefore chain stores could not carry it if they wanted to.

Go to that site. It will direct you to the closest Innova retailer in your area.

Thanks. The link led me right to the store that happens to even be in my home town.

I feel bad that I feed my Daisy the Eukanoba and then I mix it with the little cans of Pedrigee. I feel now that I've been feeding her junk. I started with Innova, as the breeder suggested, but the diarrhea was getting out of hand and the soiled crate was the last straw and so I switched. No diarrhea after the switch. I did give her a sample of Innova the other day, thinking that maybe the diarrhea was an isolated thing...but two days of eating Innova and the poo started up again. So no Innova for Daisy. Any other ideas for the best brand to feed her that won't upset her so much? It seems that anything too "rich" really sends her out to the yard. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

I have heard that because Innova is a very rich kibble, some dogs have trouble adjusting to it. Good for you for investigating into what fits your baby the best!

I switched my pup from purina to Nutro and he loves it, no loose stools, he eats three times a day and finishes every piece of kibble. From what I read the Nutro is a great dog food. There chicken meal contains no bi-products, and it's free of the bad carcinagens found in other dog foods. I briefly tried flint river but it didn't agree with my pup. So for me it'll be Nutro for life, there food does have added minerals, and vitamins but I don't think that's a bad thing. Tyson is growing strong looks great and has tons of energy. I think the food you feed is more of a personal choice. After reading about a thousand messages on this board about food. All I learned was everyone has a preference, and what works great for some doesn't for others.
