OK!! I am switching . Next question, when and how.

He has a week or two more of supply at home. After that, should I but a smaller bag of the Euko and the Nutro and begin to mix until he is weaned off of the Euko.
OR should I do the Bil Jac mkixed with Nutro until he is fully on Nutro.

Because you have a week or more left, NOW is a great time to switch. The "how" may vary ~ Diego has a sensitive tummy and I was able to switch over without problems by mixing 1/2 old - 1/2 new until the old food was gone. Another good way to begin is by mixing 1/4 new - 3/4 old for one or 2 days; half n half for +/- 2 days; 3/4 new - 1/4 old until he's completely weaned to the new.

You mentioned you mix Bil Jac & Eukanuba with water? If it were me, I would continue the current mix PLUS the Nutro. However, you can also do either option, but you may not need to purchase additional small bags of food after a couple weeks. See how he does/acts (skin/coat, eyes, stool, personality, etc.) The main thing is to *gradually* change over ;)!

I just wanted to update everyone that we have been slowly mixing in Innova with the Nutro and they are doing really well. I also started giving the Innova dog treats! Thank you to everyone for your great suggestions ;)

Dempsey J's mom- thank you ;)
and the Innova treats do smell so good like dried tomatos or something. My hubby tried the cookies you can get them from pet smart and he said they taste like stale people cookies. Maybe I can get him to try the Innova health bar LOL

Learning Curve

The boxer board has been a great learning curve. When I first caught the discussion on food, Zoe was on Iams large breed puppy. I actually went up stairs and grabbed the bag and read the ingredients. I was shocked . I had fed this brand to my other boxer years before. I had made the bad assumption that it was still a good brand. I went to the pet store the next day and bought her the innova puppy and with a little egg in it to start with she loved it. She has been on it for almost two months and her dry skin had cleared and her coat has a healthy shine to it. :D
Of course I am not always the good mommie and never let her have bad treats. We shared a dairy queen ice cream cone last night on our walk.

From what I understand, The Iams company used to be a good product before proctor & gamble bought it out and turned it to garbage. Am I right on this? Anyone?

Andrea -

What's the reason you feel about feeding your pup Nutro? I was looking at a few threads myself on this and couldn't figure out what was so bad about Nutro and did find others using it and happy about it as well.

Can you share your reasons for feeling bad about the brand? Just wanted more info because that's what I used to feed my other dogs and planned on using that for the pup I will be getting soon. Any info you can share would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I chose to feed my Muggsey Nutro because of the great things I had read about it on this sight. Everyone said that it was wonderful and left their babies shiney and healthy. Now, I read these threads and it seems that it isnt the case anymore. What's the deal on that. Muggsey loves it, both the wet and the canned. Am I wrong for this now???

I can't exactly remember the thread I read about Nutro, but I read that it does contain allot of Bi products, and something about this chemical that they use to preserve the food. My two did really well with Nutro and I didn't really want to switch food again but after reading the natural ingredients in Innova I had to switch. Also corn is really hard for them to digest and it is one of the first three ingredients in Nutro. So thats really why I decided to change their food. I must say that they seem to like it allot better, and they love the health bars for a treat.

At least my babies eat good ;)
