does anyone elses fur kid get freaked out by tags on thier collar? i recently started to have him wear his rabies, name tag, microchip tag, and a decorateive set of mini-brass knuckles (which is the same size as the tags). and the only thing he does is try to get them off. he learned that if he does the right type of body moves at once he can bite them, which i don't want him to do.

anyones else run into this type of behavior before?

Bindi doesn't have a problem with hers, but I did see at Petsmart that they have a rubber thing you can buy to put around them to keep them from clinking together. Maybe that would help?

My puppy doesn't like his collar or tags. He scratches at the collar and bites at his tags. I don't think it's anything other than he's a puppy and has never worn them before, he'll get used to them I'm sure.

Get use to them they do. Max hated his collar/tags but now they are part of him. I don't want him not to have a name tag. Just keep trying with your baby. I just had to leave it on Max for him to accept it as part of his life.

 Yep, had the same thing with Rufus a couple months ago. He sat still for hours after I put them on because the jingle freaked him out. He got used to them after a day or so though. He kept looking at me like "Why oh why would you do this to me??" Too funny.

Bail used to hate his too - actually I don't leave it on him when he's inside...but when I grab it - look out...!!! he knows when his 'necklace' comes out, he's goin somewhere good!!

I once saw a dog with all his tags on a mini clamp. All 5 of his tags were clamped together so they didnt jingle :)

Either that or start with one tag, then when he gets used to that put on another one and so fourth until he can handle all the tags jingling.

Bella didn't like the tags at first, so we used a rubber band to keep them together. I've seen little pouches designed to keep the tags from jingling, but they were $10. The rubber band worked great.

Now, Bella seems to have gotten used to the jingling, even to the point that when we grab her collar from the cabinet and she hears the jingling, she comes running 'cause she thinks it's time to go out!

Garvin has no problems with his. In fact, he gets stressed when I take his collar off for a bath or a brush, you can almost hear him saying "But what if you lose me? How will you find me?" It makes him happy to have it on, but he doesn't have quite so many tags. That's certainly a collection. Clipping them together seems a sensible idea. I'd drive myself batty if I jangled when I walked.

NB He's not as smart as the cat who sits at the back door and rings the bell on his collar til you come and let him in.
Garvin just stands there with a sad look on his face even though there is generally another door open somewhere. He hasn't figured out to jangle his tags and sadly, I doubt he ever will :)
