for those with more than one boxer, do they fight over toys?

I can put out every toy in the box, and that's a lot. They seem to all want the same thing. And God forbid I do something like stuff the kong toys, then it's a real fight. They eat their food normally, in separate corners of the kitchen, but I can't get them to stop going for the same toy. Even if I have 3 budda ropes, all the same, they all want the same one. Any suggestions how to get them to play nice?

I have no advice...but I would love to hear some, LOL. I used to buy 2 of every toy, with the thought that they would each have one to play with. I gave up. They would much rather play keep away with one toy than play nicely with 2. It also seems that the better they "goods" the crazier the fight. Rawhides, kongs, etc always incur serious drama!

At this very moment, Brewster calmly laid down to chew on a piece of junk mail (haha, don't ask) because Adrienne was busy working on a spoon (once again, I know we're weird). Just as soon as Adrienne noticed Brewster, she pounced over and started barking in his face. Silly pups!

Hay Carolyn, Salem is where I got Zoie from. I know what you mean. They try to eat the news paper, paper towel tubes are a big hit too. They even love old soda bottles to chew on. I'm all for giving them something to chew on instead of my shoes or clothes, but this is getting downright silly.

I too used to buy 2 toys because I didn't want to favor one over the other. Well, Bacon, being the spoiled baby he is, thinks everything is his. I stopped buying stuffed animals for Maggie since she destroys them. She decides to take some from Bacon. Bacon gets jealous and wants to play with it. Even if I buy them 2 of the same bones, Bacon wants to chew the one Maggie is like it's better than his.

They don't get aggressive though. When they start migrating towards each other's toys, I would just correct them and put another one in their face to distract them. It seems to work but only sometimes.

What they love the most is the tug-of-war toys. They BOTH get to play with one toy. They seem to enjoy playing together rather than apart. Bacon will bring the toy over to Maggie in hopes of getting her to chase him for it. I think it's a game to them.

I bought 2 of everything..didn't matter..if Echo had her kong, Carson wanted it..so then I'd give Echo his kong..then he wanted that one..one always wants the EXACT one the other has :(

stopped buying two..saves me a lot of $$ now

Yup ditto here, I used to get 2 of everything, I've learned my lesson now and saved myself some money.
No matter what one has got the other always wants it. Even if they've got the identical thing in their mouths the others must be better ;)

My two always go for the same toy but they are really nice to each other. Well that's only because Cooper is such a submissive boy. He will pick out a toy from the toy box and, Angel will immediately take the toy away from him BUT he has a way of charming the toy right back. He gets real low, and commando crawls over to her. He gently licks her ears and then pushes the toy a little with his nose. If she is serious about keeping it she gives the "warning growl" but he persists and eventually he has it back and begins to tease here with it and the game starts all over again. It is so entertaining

Semmi has never wanted anything to do with toys...not even when she was younger...so we stopped buying them.

However Oscar loves his toys! Semmi doesn't bother them.

Our war starts over rawhide bones and pig ears.

You give them each one, they go to their separate corners to gnaw and munch. About ten minutes into it I hear 'thump thump thump' of Semmi heading to Oscar. She stands over him and waits for him to look up at her, then she reaches down, grabs his bone and 'thump thump thump' back to her bed. He stands up, looks all stupid and watches her go. If she gets up and leaves her bed he slips in and gets it back...We do this ALL evening long.

But now Semmi has developed a hiding technique that mommy can't even crack. Somewhere in my house are two large rawhides, three smalls ones and a busy bone.

I used to think they were fighting, now I think they are playing. But, yes, they always want the same toy...no matter how many there are just alike.
