Ok the last couple of months Ive been having some trouble with my boxer...He was given to me about a year ago by a friend of mine, he had just made 3 years old..I started feeding him nutro like ive always fed my other dogs. He was ok for a while and then all of the sudden he got these bumps all over his body..my vet told me to switch to iams and I did..again he was ok for a while and then all of the sudden the bumps again...so then I found out that my friend used to feed him purina so I started feeding him purina benfull and hes been ok.. I don't know should I keep feeding him that cheap food????

First things first I would suggest allergy tests so you know what you are dealing with. Should you not be able to go that route then I would suggest a good quality food that is for dogs with allergies such as Natural Balance or Wellness. These foods have one protein and one carb - after you find out that the food is working (few months), slowly introduce ONE new food for a week and see how he is doing and keep going from there. My girl had allergies and it was from chicken, turkey and beef so I went to home cooking lamb & venison. Some dogs are allergic to grains as well - which is why you want to stay away from the cheap foods as they contain a lot of grains. Good luck and I'm sure other BW members will be able to provide some wonderful direction for you as well.

I just want to add that each of those foods you mentioned are not very good foods (including the Iams and Nutro)

Like others have said, you will need to find what works for your dog. But I would suggest doing a search here on "premium kibbles". You should find a TON of information on some great kibbles. Here are a few, in no particular order:

Canidae
Wellness
Eagle Pack Holistic
Innova
Solid Gold
Flint River Ranch
Chicken Soup

Boxers have notoriously sensitive stomachs, and he could be having a food-related allergy to some of the cheap fillers in any of the foods you mentioned. Some dogs don't tolerate grains well at all, or it could be the protein source (fish, lamb, etc.)

Good luck!

I would look at the ingredient list of all three foods and see it you can figure out what Iams and Nutro have that th Purina doesn't. I would give you a place to start.

Good luck!
