We have had rooms with wood floors in 2 houses. The floors were finished with a product called Glitza. The floors were treated professionally before we move in, the stuff stinks so bad you must be out of the house for a few day after it is applied. We have been in this home for 8 years and the living room and dining rooms are still in great shape and super easy to keep clean. They survived Crystal 
, and now Roxy is on them all the time. My kitchen and hallway have light ceramic tile with light grout, it was here when we moved in, the tile is easy to clean but the grout is another story. Light grout in not a good idea unless you love scrubbing lots of straight lines with a scrub brush. That is not my cup of tea. :eek:
