Hmmmm. I cannot do a raw diet at this point in time. I do feed Wellness and the companion Wellness supplement. How much garlic and brewer's yeast is appropriate to add? Wellness Lamb contains whole clove garlic, but it is down into the label.
Maybe I could use the advantage less often on my two. When fosters come in with fleas I could use an advantage to clear them all off. I have heard garlic works against mosquitos too.
My father takes garlic pills, but obviously not enough - when he is out here fishing or just in the evenings, he gets bit too!
I hear you, Scrapper's Mom, I feel like I live in a jungle with all the bugs out. In the summer they try spraying for mosquitos with all the water it is often a loosing battle. If the garlic works for the dogs, I would try using it too!!!:p

FRONTLINE!

Frontline works great. It kills fleas and ticks. Advantage is okay, but is only for fleas.

I use Frontline and LOVE it. We put it on both dogs and the cat. I believe the shampoos are too harsh for their coats and don't like the collars b/c of fumes that they can breath.

I use Frontline Plus for my girls. It works well, and gets ticks, too. I found a couple of ticks on Samantha (eeewwww, gross) and switched from Advantage to Frontline Plus. Haven't seen a flea or tick on them since!!:)

What I use....

I have always used Program on my three dals, but when we got Mush, I used Frontline Plus on her. WELL, one of my dals is epileptic (the 13 year old), and although her seizures are well controlled with medication, I noticed last year that she seemed to have a seizure approximately 2 weeks after I gave her the Program Pill. So, just to see what would happen, I took her off Program, in fact I took them all off Program and now only used Frontline Plus. She hasn't had another seizure since I took her off Program, so I can only conclude that this lowered her seizure threshold. The Frontline Plus works just fine for all four dogs.

I use Frontline Plus and never had a problem until recently. I only use it on my girl during the warm months. Well last year, I noticed a flea on her, so I am wondering how effective the stuff is.:rolleyes

We use Frontline on Joxer with great results. In my part of NJ deer ticks are a bigger problem for us than fleas. Joxer has been vaccinated against lyme disease but I still don't want him bringing the ticks into the house to share with the rest of us!

A friend told us about this all-natural supplement to give pets that will help them develop a natural repellant to fleas. I'm kind of skeptical though. It talks about B-Vitamins, not Garlic. I should show this to my hubby.
